The governments of China opened a radio service in Phnom Penh on Thursday, with plans to broadcast 18 hours a day in three languages.
China-Cambodia Friendship Radio will broadcast programs in Khmer, Chinese and English, from 6 am to midnight each day on FM96.5. It’s opening marked 50 years of cooperation between the two countries and followed an announcement of more than $250 million in aid from the Chinese earlier this month.
Chinese International Radio now broadcasts in 53 languages, and the opening of the service follows an agreement earlier this year with Vietnamese programming on Cambodian National Radio.
“It is no doubt the radio will strengthen more understanding and improve the relationship of the people of both countries, Chinese Ambassador Zhang Jin Feng said Thursday.

Good, my friend! I thought about that from a long time that one day, the chinese will come in town. Then, the VN has to lean again on Soviet Union which is now Russia. Who is going to be quiet some now? The Vietnam wants to a big brother to Cambodia, but they never will be. So long VN, your day in Cambodia are numbered now.
5:17Am, I will more concern about the Viet than China. Cambodia is in a better hand with China because it can prevent us from colonize by vietnam. Even though China partially responsible for the genocide that claimed 2 millions of our fellow Khmer, it still remain actively maintain a close tie relation with Cambodia politically and with aid. China now is world superpower and the expansionist, Vietnam, is a threat to China influence in Southeast Asia. China has challenge and keep Vietnam at bay as we can see her present at Laos and Cambodia today. China doesn't post any threat to our existing, and since when that we lost an inch of land to the Chinese? Thus, China is our hope in our survival against the Thai and Viet, and is our only reliable friend up to date. But, we, khmer must learn how to self-reliance without fully relying on other for help.

....we can exploit, 9:50AM? Not until all of our Khmer so-called intellectuals/leaders/kings and queens learn how to scratch their arse first, I think! Until then Khmer will be vietnamized from head to toes and to the backbone if Hun Sen and cronies still control Cambodia!!!
This is very exciting news. The Westerners all have their radio stations like VOA, RFA, RFI, etc. for a long time. They only contribute to disharmony among Asian neighbors. Now the China-Cambodia Friendship Radio will encourage closer ties between our two countries. This is great news because China is our friend and ally.
This is great news. I think many Khmer people would rather have America as a close ally. But America has very little national interest in Cambodia and the U.S. is a close ally of our arch-rival Siam.
What's good about a closer Sino-Cambodia relation is that the Chinese are arch-rivals of the Yuons, just like Cambodia vs. the Siams and Cambodia vs. the Yuons. China wants regional influence but has no interest in annexing Cambodia.
We can't get the West to come our side. The fucking Siams have the US. The Yuons have Russia. We need China...it's not a matter of loving or hating the Chinese. We need them for our own survival.
