Experience radio program producer position available at CCHR

Dear Colleagues,

The Cambodian Center for Human Rights is seeking an experience radio program producer for our Community Empowerment Program to start in January 2009. The producer will be responsible for editing, supervising the recording of public fora and other necessary introduction and ensure proper airing with CCHR's partner radio stations. He/She shall be able to do research on topic for discussion as well as building relationship with speakers and able to invite them for CCHR's program.

CCHR is a non-governmental, non-political and independent human rights organization that envisions a Cambodian civil society where human rights and democracy are fully respected and that the people enjoy the benefits of development to which they have fully participated. CCHR is seeking to be one of the main actors in building a strong foundation of democracy at the grass-root level and it shall work on informing the public to create awareness on human rights and democracy concepts and principles. CCHR also works to protect the rights of the victims of human rights violations.

I just would like to know about the new radio on CCHR in the future.

CCHR is currently using the Beehive Radio FM105MHz to broadcast. It doesn't have its own station, as the govt does not permit: this is some kind of restricting freedom of expression; no wonder actually!!!

I'd like to see more democratic and neutral (not ultra opposition) radio/TV stations created. So far, most if not all media services are pro-govt.
