Prince Norodom Ranariddh, once the chief rival of the prime minister who returned to Cambodia from exile this year, has been named a royal adviser to King Norodom Sihamoni.
Ranariddh, who founded the his own, eponymous party after leaving Funcinpec in 2006, will be “Supreme Advisor,” which carries “the same rank as prime minister,” Chea Chanboribo, an aid to Ranariddh, said.
Ranariddh left politics earlier this year, following a pardon by the king at the behest of Prime Minister Hun Sen, of a graft count and prison term.

Dear Publican extremises, I am not a royalist but just would like to share my comments in different concept to you. We should aware the root for a tree. If your race is coming from mongo, you will be a mango tree and cannot become to be an apple tree. The way that we should live is totally different from apple tree. So we should find the best way on how to make our mango tree become bigger, stronger, and more fruitful rather than cut an apple tree put on root of our mango tree. This may work because of scientific menthod but I am sure it will not healthy enought. Pls commend if you have different concept.

I agree with 9:20AM. Saving face is very important in our culture. This jurisprudence of prince Ranariddh serves as a good model for the other leaders.
Hun Sen, in turn, will also be given such rank (although just honorific and not powerful) when he leaves his chair. That will give more room for possibilities that Hun Sen is willing to abandon powers.
Politics, particularly the Khmer's, is dirty and you will never be sure of what are actually behind the scene. What we see or know is just part of it, and I believe most, if not all, politicians want the country to grow. So try to show love and be kind to every Khmer fellow.

Please stick to our principle of preserve our Cambodia. To choose between Hun Sen (VN puppet0 and Ranariddh the crook, I prefer the least Devil. It means that Ranariddh, no matter what he is much better than Hun Sen. Two things tha Ranariddh MUST abondon are: Hungry of power, monies and mistress. He MUST divorce that Devil mistress in order to be a good leader. How you feel to steal a wife from your subordinate ? I know Veng Sereyvuth very well. We used to work closely to each other in Bangkok office that located in Soi Phra Phinit road.
So please our only ennemy is Hun Sen/CPP ( Viet puppet.)

King is a King and never will be a VN slave. I beleive for all the Hun Sen's set up to destroy our king will eventually be biting him back. First Hun Sen is under the Chinese watchdog. He got aid from China with million dollars. If Hun Sen do not follow the Chinese, he will be over. Second, VN is afraid to loose every thing to China, then, push Hun Sen to do more trade. Hun Sen is now under the presure. He is going to be OK if he is with the King. King already gave him credit from a long time ago. However, he himself has to wake up.

History can be studied, evaluated, and prospered. If history is repeated in bad way , then failure will become. Royals are human, and they made mistake at least we all give them a chance to rebound back from bad history or wrongdoings. Symbolicly, they are Khmer and stand for Khmer not for Youn.

Hun Sen or Youn's puppet has never givern a break to anyone, especially the king. VN wants king out from Cambodia so VN pushed Hun Sen to put pressurse on the king same thing he did it to Rannarith. At the border Rannarith was good king, and good leader. But when Hun Sen put presured on him too much, he went crazy. And because VN and Hun Sen stressed the king sihakmony so much that sometime king wants to resign and go away from Cambodia. It is good that now they reform so Hun and VN will not do harm to them. King is now all very well respected thru Cambodia.
