In the morning of 10 December, during a meeting with a group of his supporters in Siem Reap city, Prince Ranariddh said that his decision to quit politics was made long ago, even before he was nominated as supreme advisor to the king. The prince said that the reason leading him to decide to quit politics was because he accepted to recognize the results of the 27 July 2008 general election: “I accepted the decision of the people, but the selection of the country leader is not for Norodom Ranariddh to make. Therefore, as a democrat who served the people for 27 years already, I am not in the opposition like Mr. Sam Rainsy. I have to respect the people’s choice, they are the only life of the nation. If I do not oppose the “people,” I can only pull myself out (of politics).” He added that the king, with Hun Sen’s prodding, had decided to nominate the prince as the supreme advisor with a rank equivalent to that of a prime minister, and this was already signed in a royal decree.

Politic is politic and don't even think that politic is running like a straight line. If Hun Sen can promote his family, King who rules the Kingdom can promote everyone too. Luckly, that Kingdom is still alive, although Vietnam jointed Hun to destroy.

Cambodia weather is between 30-42oC. I cannot understand why these so called politician can wear these suites. Unlike in Europe or other countries where their weather is about 10-19oC, therefore wearing a suite is much more suitable. I think these politicians in Cambodia didn't have a brain to think about it. They wear them just to spoil themselve in front of the girls.
I wouldn't have any bad comment on him if he didn't make any name calling. Talk about yourself is sufficient; why mention or compare with Sam Rainsy? Really such a provocation.
This prince has very good theories, some of which were even adopted for implementation by CPP. That's the truth. However, his implementation is extremely poor, thus causes people to call him flip flop. His determination is not strong and is always affected by bribery or mistress. quiet, i don't have any problem with all cambodian men wearing suits. in cambodia, people know how to dress nicely, especially the wealthy, the elitists, the gov't official, gov't workers, etc... when khmer people celebrate the traditional khmer holidays, they all dress their best, and they all look so civilized. god bless cambodia.

One chopstick can be easy to break, but many chopsticks are hard to bend or break. King those day was so foolish and easy galible, for example, Chakkrapong was fooled by Hun Sen to degrade his brother, study more...and Rannarith was stresed out by Hun Sen, then, acting out stupid. Hun Sen denied everything Rannarith wanted to do to help Cambodia. He was written off by Hun Sen whose party become a perminent one from village leader to districts and city gathering to oppose Rannarith position as prime minister of Cambodia. Rannarith himself was very young in politic, never had involved in Cambodian politic like CPP or Hun Sen so he got into Hun Sen trap easily. He is now, I beleive, must grow up and as a resutl they are royals coming together to help people by having Sihakmony as their symbol. If royals this time broke up, I think Royals in Cambodia will be in hell. They have to watch out VN and Hun Sen reaction to the situation now when royal king are reunited.
5:58pm, you seem to know more about the King. Let me tell you from my insiuation, they are there to corrupt as they were used to be. I beleive thay they are going to do the same if Cambodian praise them in highly respect.
