Tourists arrivals in Cambodia, which were expected to increase by 15% annually, have only increased by 6% in 2008, compared to the numbers of arrivals in 2007. Officials of the Bureau of Statistics of the Ministry of Tourism said that, according to estimates, tourist arrivals in Cambodia in 2008 only numbered at 2.15 million. The reasons for the drops to below the forecasts were due to the world financial crisis and the political crisis in Thailand.

Tourism officials said that tourist arrivals from Korea topped the list, with tourist arrivals from Vietnam came in second., Japan third, the United States fourth and China ranked 5th in tourist arrivals in Cambodia. The flows of tourist arrivals from Thailand both by land and by air still top the list with 33% arrivals, while arrivals through Vietnam ranked second with 29% of tourist arrivals to Cambodia.

From Vietnam...

Are they tourists ?
Or they came here as citizen.

This is really big concern.
Why they sort out this statistic only this year...?
How about the last 10 years ?

11:31PM, TRUE, MAYBE THEY CAME BUT THEY never RETURN. ANYWAY, IF THEY ARE REAL TOURISTS THEY WON'T BRING MUCH BENEFITS TO CAMBODIA ANYWAY BECAUSE THEY ARE LOW-BUDGET TOURISTS.
