Countries who are unable to produce enough food for themselves are scouring the world for cheap farmland to grow food and export it home, reports Nick Paton Walsh.
Never mind the food miles: when prices are soaring around the world some countries have found a way of keeping their own consumers happy - farming out their farms overseas.
China, South Korea and many Arab nations can't produce enough food for themselves, but they do have cash and plenty of it.
Now they are scouring the world for cheap farmland to grow their own food and export it home. It's a global trend which has already got the United Nations worried.
Huge plots of land in Africa have been secured and now many rich nations are looking elsewhere for farmland.
One of Asia's poorest countries, Cambodia, is at the top of their wish list.

The birth of Khmer Rouge regime was the caused of the rich and the power who suppressed and abused th poor peasants. The peasants joined the Revolutionary Force of Khmer Rouge, including Hun Sen.
Hun Sen need to know where his root was.

People would get their properties reimbursement for a fair market value when dealing with foreigner’s firms, but they would get slump price and abusive when dealing with a local firm such 7NG company.
This is how Cambodians being treated by the same nationality.
No wonder foreigner’s intent to look down on that as a whole.
what's else to say? khmers leaders deserve any credits besides oppressing own people, sucking benefits to feed themselves, and turning own people to become slaves for their well-being?
how to rescue people from such regime? Obama can implement any more better than words...khmers need help from all good heart fellows and countries all round the world to help release them from grip of power...
why superpower are fooled not once but several times about the concerted elections in cambodia? in several cases, solve a state problem politically just benefit rulers but not people. when are superpower going to understand this practice?
How could Khmer leaders as Hun Sen are so stupid to rent or sell lands to foreigners to do farm on our land? When you have a peasant leader, that's what you get. A smart leader wouldn't do that. If I'm leader of Cambodia, I'll borrow money from the world bank to invest for creating farm for my people and export the products to the world market. I don't need them to come and work on my farm.
Very dumb Hun Sen.
He just feed himself with million of dollars into his pocket.

If you are poor and you need extra cash, there is nothing wrong with selling some of your property, renting part of your house or whatever. Pouk Ah Scam Rainxy does the same thing oversea.

What we need here is to educate our people about our Western Asian brothers, and not let Pouk Ah Scam Rainxy and his anti-muslim to divide us and keep us at each other throat constantly.
