Cambodia looks to graphic warnings [on cigarette packs]

Warning: Cigarette smoking may turn you into a foul mouth like the guy above

TobaccoReporter.com

Jan 5, 2009—Graphic warning labels will be included on cigarette packs sold in Cambodia starting from next month if the government approves a plan by the Ministry of Health, according to a report in The Phnom Penh Post quoting a government health official.

At present, some cigarette packs sold in Cambodia do not carry warnings of any kind.

If approved, the new warning labels will become part of a wider government program to limit tobacco use, which recently included the introduction of a ban on smoking in government health clinics in Kâmpôt.
