Vietnam rejects HRW report on treatment of Khmer people Sunday, January 25, 2009

Vietnam has rejected as “total fabrication” a recent report by the Human Rights Watch (HRW) on the “repression” against Khmer ethnic people in the Mekong Delta.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Dzung said this was not the first time HRW had published false information related to Vietnam.
Dzung said people’s basic rights, including the freedom of speech and religion, are clearly enshrined in Vietnam’s Constitution.
The HRW report claimed that a Khmer group in the Mekong Delta region suffered from repression and restrictions to freedom of religion and speech.
Dzung said the Khmer ethnic group in southern Vietnam is an integral part of the community of 54 ethnic groups living in the country. All the ethnic minority groups have been receiving equal treatment and care to improve their living conditions, he said.
However, he noted, in several localities, some people have recently complained about unsatisfactory compensation received for land reclaimed by the government for infrastructure development.
Local authorities have been actively working to resolve all the grievances in line with the laws and specific localities’ conditions, Dzung said.

Why are khmer leaders including prime minister sooooo afraid of Vietnamese? How in the world that Vietnamese able to kidnap his holy Monk Tim sakhorn from the temple, defrocted him in Cambodia, dragged him accross the border, and then charged him for illegal crossing to Vietnam?
Vietnamese creat thunder and storm in Sroke Khmer any time they want, wherever they want. Common, some khmer leaders like Hun Sen must have some strong spinal cord stand up and protect their own people. Should use those thug who beating his own people to prottect the people instead.
There is no friend of Cambodia on this planet that is closer than Vietnam.

We should not use the word Vietnam. Call Kampuchear Krom, and Prey Nokor is the city, and all others cities should be called its original name. We should not call it because someone just rename them.
When you win the war, you are allowed to anything as you please with your new land.
Every Khmer with clear conscience know that Ah Kvak Hun Xen is nothing but a Viet dog. His ambition is power and in order for him to stay in power he must bow his head to the Viet. This is why he treated Khmer Krom as his enemy. However, the law of nature clearly pointed out that what goes up must comes down. Likewise, Viet dominant in Khmer Krom will one day come to an end. Khmer Krom will gain a full independent and self determination just like any other worldly citizen. The question is not whether will it happen but When will it happens.
My salutation and inspiration to all Khmer Krom people that stand up and fight for justice and freedom.
