A senior official from the Council of Ministers, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that Prime Minister Hun Sen has revealed some of the reasons for the sacking of Gen. Ke Kimyan (pictured) as the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF).
The same official said, in the meeting at the Council of Ministers on Friday 23rd January, Prime Minister Hun Sen told the meeting that Gen. Ke Kimyan was sacked because he had refused to follow the orders of a prime minister.
The Prime Minister also said that Gen. Ke Kimyan owned many illegal plots of lands in various provinces that no one dares to touch them.
Prime Minister Hun Sen added that, furthermore, Gen. Ke Kimyan dares to argue with the defence minister, Gen. Tea Banh, and has refused to follow the orders of Gen. Tea Banh.

Illegal plots of land in various provinces may not be the motivation behind it. It’s just a pre-text to get rid of Ke Kim Yan.
When it comes about corruption cases, many of the high ranking officers and Hun Kwack’s family own more illegal plots of land and illegally cut down trees to export out of the country, then he often silent and turns a blind eye on it anyway.
It’s better saying that Ke Kim Yan ignores the order and argues with Tea Banh that led to his termination.
No matter what, Hun Kwack got to do what he thinks it’s fair to fulfill his duty and to shake up for dead wood.

Ke Kim Yan is an honest General who buffered against Youn Hun Sen, preventing of killing Khmer. Ke Kim Yan is a hero.

In the Western world, one is given the opportunity to correct your mistake wether through verbal warning or a letter of reprimand, before action is taken. After the verbal warning or a letter of reprimand is exhausted, then and only then that a person can be demoted or fired.
In a perfect world of Huynh Sen, one does not afford the luxury to correct oneself. This is personal and on-going internal conflicts of the CPP.
Hun Sen wants to make those Generals to be Donut Makers and Potato Diggers in Cambodia.
No doubt these men are unemployed and rely on monthly paycheck from the gov’t until war broke out before they get their jobs back or their properties could be confiscated for illegal ownership.

land- grabbing is only an excuse to sack Ke kimyan. The real motive is political.. because Kimyan did'nt follow Hun Sen's orders to kill Khmer or to rob poor peasants of their lands like in Dey Krohorm. Sar Kheng is next?
Hun Sen is moving toward gripping absolute power for sure. The pre-text as General Ke Kimyan illegally seize several plots of land is out of date. Who doesn't know in Cambodia the high-ranking officials do not abuse power, executing their power to grab land, to rob the nation? NOt to mention that now all ministries become family's offices and don't tell us here Hun Sen gov.t does not know about it.
The real motive of sacking the general should be disobeying the orders or the general does not work in line with Hun sen's orders. But guess what? Hun sen's orders are to consolidate his grip of power and to please his boss behind and that is one of the main reasons that the general disobey Hun sen's order.

For the chain of command, Ke Kim Yan takes his order from the King, not Prime Minister or Defence Minister. But, since the King only knows about ballet dancing, Hun Xen does whatever he likes. Pol Saroeun just got a PhD from Hanoi with his doctoral paper detailing how the Viet troops can easily win the war on Cambodian terrains. If this is not called treason, I don't know any other term for this collusion. Only traitors and Viet puppets will hail this as a PhD masterpiss. So, after Pol Saroeun has been brain-washed at PhD level, Hanoi had to appoint him as top military commander in Cambodia. And, this would work fine for Hun Xen as his son has been groomed, as well as brainwashed by Hanoi, to replace Pol Saroeun when he retires.
Of course, apologists and Hun Xen stooges will come up with other explanations. But, the writing is on the wall.
By taking G. Ke Kimyan out (his true nemesis, which have the military power to overthrough him), Hun Sen will slowly set his man (family member aka son) in that position for total control of the arm force. With that in play, he will reign over Cambodia. Hun Sen is just like Sadam Hussein, hopefully that family will come to the same end, uproot.
