During his visit to Oddar Meanchey province, Hun Sen asked officials in his administration to equip themselves with videoconference equipment “so as to save money”.
During the inauguration a new administrative building in Oddar Meanchey, Hun Sen indicated that he just acquired videoconference equipment, just like all the officials in the 24 provinces.
Hun Sen said: “This will allow me to give direct orders following my reading of local media. Thanks to this, provincial officials no longer have to come to Phnom Penh and this will save transport cost.”
Hun Sen also asked the army to equip themselves also, especially along land and maritime border control posts.
Other ministries and departments should also convert to this “new gadget,” Hun Sen added.

It would work in some cases. Exactly, Video-conference will be in place, but the questions: how is it used without high-speed internet?

Good if you have equipment for video-conference. But be creful with the price.
Just some examples:
1.The computers bought by the government officials for their offices are 4 tijme higher than the real price.
2.While the dental chair provived by the Ministry of Health to the state Hospitals cost 12,500 USD on the invoice (the real price is 2,500USD). I never forget one provincial dentist saying: I have the same dental chair at my private clinic. It cost me only 2,500 USD. But now I have to sign with TEARS because it's the MOH's price.
I heard the US millitary paid 80 usd for toilet seat. So what difference does it make. Everyone try to rip off the government.
Developed countries still shy away from using videoconference in classified business in government.
Hun Sen is too naive,secrecy on line is the same thing as dom rei ngeub yoak jong ai baing.
Beware,Cambodia is not savvy in espionage or intelligence network yet.Hun Sen is not too smart after all in boasting his ignorance in high tech usage.Other democratic countries included US,people can send email to the leaders but Hun Sen is too afraid of keyboard and computer screen.
Otherwise,he would not ask Kannharith, the hypocrite, to draft a legislation to intimidate bloggers.
Dare him to list his private email address or cell phone for public to contact him directly for one day.

Stupid CPP. How can Hun Sen and his cronies let Vietname supply telecom equipment and install telecom infrastructure in our country? With all their telecom equipment/infrastructure in our country, they can now spy, intercept and eavedrop any official, busisiness, casual phone call conversations in our country as they want.
