Gen. Ke Kimyan (pictured), who was sacked as Commander-in-Chief of the Cambodian Armed Forces on 22nd January, will not get a new position until after the municipal election in May.

Mr. Cheam Yeap, a Cambodian People's Party's MP, told the Cambodia Daily on Sunday that, on Friday Prime Minister Hun Sen met with Senate President Mr. Chea Sim, and National Assembly President Mr. Heng Samrin to discuss about the upcoming municipal election.

Mr. Cheam Yeap said that, in the meeting the three leaders did not discuss about Gen. Ke Kimyan's case because the Cambodian People's Party Permanent Committee will not meet until after the election in May in order to give Gen. Kimyan a new role.

Mr. Cheam Yeap said that the appointment of Gen. Ke Kimyan to a new role is not a matter of urgency.

I don't know why a general in his statur is afrade of a prime minister (meaning head of all ministers). if people below him not loyal to him, he should rearange them. should have ask me to be his adviser.

Ke Kim Yan's fall was Hun Sen's political trick.
He is a thorn in Hun Sen's eye.
As a RCAF Chief, he always maintains his military independence and Hun Sen hates him.
Hun Sen sent his cronies to trap with him with land and drug deals.
Money made him blind and he forgot his duty.
Hun Sen see that it is the right time to fire him,
and Chea Sim and Sar Kheng could not do anything to support Ke Kim Yan.

What next for Hun Sen political ambition ?
President Hun Sen ?
Hun Sen will use the same trick (MONEY) as he did for Ke Kim Yan.
Currently,Cambodian Government pays the king, Ranarith ,and 26 other
royal family members about a million dollars a month .
For Hun Sen,after Sihaknouk's death,he will say this wasteful money as his pretext as to get rid of the gay king and these 27 bloodsuckers and he will ask to his CPP rubber stamp congress to amend Cambodia constitution to a Republic Regime, and he will be President.
The king, Ranarith ,and other princes and princesses must understand that by accepting monthly salary and do nothing for the people is your political suicide.

hun sen does not want to give ke kimyan any position, that's why delay kimyan's appintment to a new job. in fact, hun sen sacked kimyan because he wanted to weaken chea sim and sar kheng's power, so why he needs to appoint kimyan? you see, more of chea sim and sar kheng's supporters in the military are being sacked everyday under the guise of a military reform. peal si peal- hun sen is killing chea sim.

Khmer tragedy. Saga of sadness live on, and there is no ending and that is because a few narrow mind group work to enrich their small families but detrimental to Khmer Nation. Seem never ending, and it is the last stage of Khmer disappearance.

You can't blame anyone. That's the nature of the half-blood Khmer. Khmers living abroad with a degree or two pretend themself like kings while Khmers living in the country pretend themself like another kings. Khmers living in lost lands can't call themself Khmer ... No way you can't talk to each others, no one accept another. You are very disunited. No wonder, we keep shrinking, unless we are united. But, HOW??????

You dumb Khmer should hand over what is left to us, vietnamese, to look after. We will only look after for you and we will hand over the ountry back to you when you are ready for your own grave. Thank you so much that we managed to control you through our puppet, Hun Sen. He needs to report to us every month.

money, bribery&post are effective mechanism to buy off people's conscience and turn them blind despite the severe catastrophes, the wipe-out as a nation ahead. very simple, imagine anyone can survive and support their family with the so-called decent salary between 25-50$ a month? the gov.t knows it and it just blash blash ..non-stop. what the heck is the gov.t doing? isn't its responsibility and duty to take care and improve the state institutions and their employees? why do khmers need such a government?

not to mention that these leaders are dumb and low-educated and their leadership attitude is no better than "a gang band" despite in this age of technology. What a waste of time for development under the current leadership?

have they known and learned to move forward cambodia to catch up with this so-called era of technology and uncontrollable information and knowledge?

Hun Sen knows perfectly well that he has several political opponents in the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces as well as in the Cambodian People's Party. All of whom play a certain particular role in trying to decentralize overwhelming executive power away from Hun Sen, Hun Sen's family, and Hun Sen's extreme loyalist.

When it comes to governing a country, Hun Sen is very unintelligent. However, when it comes to securing his power and leveling possible threats from rivals and those who don't agree with his mandates, don't discount his abilities and objectives.

The sacking of Gen. Ke Kimyan is just another political maneuvering for Hun Sen to install someone else who will push for stronger influence within the military with CPP, let alone, Hun Sen's interests. Ke Kimyan had previously had some conflicts of interests with former Hun Sen National Police right-hand man (the now dead) Hok Lundy. Hun Sen simply needs someone in charge of the RCAF who will follow his commands without question and hesitation and reaffirm the RCAF's sole allegiance to the CPP.

In democratic country, the Prime Minister cannot remove a Commander chief of staffs of the army. The minister of defense should lodge a complain to the court and the court will decide. Other positions of the army should be promoted or be sacked by their superiors. THe Prime Minister is just one of the politician. His position gain through election and not from his birth or from his promotion. But all public servants are different. They have been promoted through their long experiences and long services. Each people in the community should be treated equally. After their retirement, the king should reward them with a King List of honour. THe award of Hun Sen, Heng Samrin and Chea Sim as Samdech before their retirement were wrong and were not fair to other politicians such as opposition leaders and NGO people. Since I have been awarded by The Majesty, THe Queen of England, I have given up my politic in my country. Areak Prey

11:08am, agreed. bureaucrats are appointed by their merits and some senior bureaucrats are appointed by vote of parliament and can only be sacked by parliament. prime minister is only a politician. he can only sack his ministers, but he can't sack the bureaucrats. in the west, any non-elected govt. employees are called bureaucrats. commander-in-chiefs, police chiefs, chief of navy, under-secretaries of state are bureaucrats. these people are employed on contracts and can only be sacked due to impropriety through vote of parliament. hun sen's sacking of kimyan is wrong. but hun sen never respect the law so he will do whatever he wants.

Dear 5:40Pm,
Only you and me can see this problem. Only law will bring the country to good development and harmony. Bad law will bring down the country and the people. But each politician is thinking of their own interest and their party interest. They don't have high moral and high integrity to stand up for good social justice and good law for the country.
