On its return visit from Budapest, a Cambodian parliament delegation brought in good news.

Hungary just decided to cancel half of Cambodia’s debt,” announced CPP MP Ho Naun. She was part of a parliament delegation which met with Hungarian MPs. Another announce by Ho Naun: Budapest promised to help the kingdom to continue its development path, and Budapest also noted with satisfaction the progress made up to date. Hungary also wishes to open an embassy in Phnom Penh, and that Cambodia would do the same in Budapest as well, in order to reinforce the links between the two countries.

The amount of debt owed by Cambodia to Hungary was about $400,000.

We dont have abilities to pay off the debts. We are just waiting for the debts gone by the pitiful lenders to write them off. I really ashame about this. When our sad country can pay back all debts, if we still have one person graspped the power in his hand?

If I am not entirely mistaking, perhaps seven years ago, Hun SenVarman borrowed 10 million US dollars from India.. CPP's folks continuously keep borrowing money, and who going to pay the debts? The next generation of Khmers?

Well, money doesn't grow on tree. If you don't have food, you have to borrow some, and pay back later.

Only Ah Shameless Potato diggers preferred to beg for free welfare and food stamp for eternity without having to pay back a cent.
