Cambodia is maintaining peaceful bilateral talks with Thailand, despite the recent failure of a border commission to resolve the ongoing military standoff at Preah Vihear temple, a senior official said Monday.
“What is important is the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Prime Minister Hun Sen, we honor Thailand as our neighbor,” Phay Siphan, a spokesman for the Council of Ministers, said, as a guest on “Hello VOA.”
A resolution to the standoff will require “patience,” he said. “That is the solution through peaceful means.”
Cambodia and Thailand remain at odds over a small stretch of land on the Preah Vihear border, with both sides claiming ownership and each using a different map.
A meeting of a Joint Border Committee last week failed to resolve the longstanding issues, but both sides have agreed in principal to withdrawing the thousands of troops that have built up on each side.
“We have some results in every talk with Thailand,” Phay Siphan said.

Don’t try to make him an evil man bcoz he’s already is. He can only suck blood of his own people. When it comes to siam, they’re stronger evils. So he has to lay down low before they use his blood to wash siam people feet.

AH Phay Siphan doesn't need to use the word "WE" because I don't need this old fool to speak for me! It is such a poor choice of word for this old fool to use the words "WE HONOR THAILAND as our neighbor" In fact Thailand was never a neighbor but an aggressor! It doesn't matter how this old fool want to paint the situation of Siem-Cambodian conflict and it is still the same Siem naked aggression over Cambodian sovereignty!
Patience or not and the Siem leaders need to withdraw their troop from Cambodian soil now! The Siem are in violation of international law and order!
We don't have no choice. Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam will be our neighbors for eternity.

Why this people using so bad word. AH CHKER, AH CHMAR. Although, somebody is doing something which you think is not got or is not suitable to you but as Khmer, those words should not come. As an educated people you should use proper word or else you are not different from those people. The same to Khmer poem says that "REURNG NA DEL TROV, TENG NOV LEUR NJOM, TUS TOUCH TUS THOM, THA DAK OY KER, KOM HUS KLOURN ENG, THLENG MIN CHEN TER, BER KOM HUS KER, SREK PHORNG LOU PHORNG"
Who was talking about Siem or Thai, Ah Pleu (1:08)? I was talking about Khmer Leu who is a citizen of Thailand, just like you, a citizen of Ah George Washington. Get the picture?
