A PROPOSAL to remove another 20 senior military commanders from all areas of the army is under consideration by the minister of defence, a top official said.
"[Commander-in-Chief] Pol Saroeun has requested that dozens of Royal Cambodian Armed Forces [RCAF] commanders be removed and promoted. The proposal has been received by Defence Minister Tea Banh," a senior official at the Defence Ministry who declined to be named as he was not authorised to speak to the media told the Post Sunday.
"The list is being examined by Tea Banh but has not yet been approved," he said, adding that the reshuffle would affect the infantry divisions, the navy, RCAF command headquarters and the Ministry of Defence itself.
In a sweeping reshuffle of the Kingdom's military leadership, Ke Kim Yan was removed from his post last week and his former deputy, General Pol Saroeun, was appointed the new commander-in-chief. Seven officers were bumped up to the post of deputy commander-in-chief, including four-star General Kun Kim and General Meas Sophea, in a move observers said was politically motivated.
New RCAF Commander-in-Chief Pol Saroeun insisted that the new list was not a political shake-up.
"It is not a reshuffle. It is not this at all," he told the Post Sunday.
According to Bun Seng, commander of Military Region 5, which covers Pursat, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey and Pailin provinces, it is up to the Kingdom's military leaders whether to shake up the army or not.
"The region is not affected by this. Any reshuffle is just for top leaders," he said.

Most of them from the notorious Site 8 (Khmer Rouge). Ask Gen. Kim Kum, he'll tell you--if he's honest with you.
This is the signs of CPP will go to hell.
The shake ups are ordered from Hanoi to maintain the tight control over Cambodia arm forces. The shuffle take an immediate affect soon as its PHD general graduated. Khmer will never be free and continue to kowtow to Hanoi till end of Khmer race.
General Meas Sophea is the best a General can get. Don't you idiots say that Ke Kim Yan was a better General. He was a land grabber with no heart.
My beloved 11:00PM!
Why are you confidently mentioning only Ke KimYan, not almost CPP's generals for corruptingly land grabbing?
We all have acknowlegeably and evidently knew that each of CPP's generals are corruptingly owning a few mansions, land, even lake and mountain... Da master Youn in order permantly controls the submissive Khmers, Samdech Doctoral Hun SenVarman must be forever remains in power.
Nothing wrong with a good and solid reform.
The highest curruption causes are hanoi. ONce they are out, thing will be back to normal. But until then, Hell is right here in cambodia. The devil is hanoi.
Nope, when it come to evil, Ah Potato diggers came directly from Hell. You can't be more pure than that.
Ah Grave Diggers is one of the douche-bags who work for Ah foreigner baggers. He used to say that he is living in America but works as a slave for Yuon’s regime.
No wonder he’s so hypocrite at people’s comments about Yuon’s puppet.
Go back to where you came from, Ah slave before Cambodians hung you and send you to Hell.

He missed Mcdonald's French-fries, that's why he always mentioned potatoes. Ah looser from the land of opportunity!
He is under Huynh Sen's duress, that's why he feel obligated to say good things about his master.
Nonetheless, we will sent troops to rescue him. We will call it Operations "Potato Head."
Gen. Pol Saroeun is the best person who deserves to be the High Commander-in-chief. He deserves to be the top one to lead our military to defend our territory against Siamese. I always appreciate much for his leadership.
Please send my respect for Gen. Pol Saroeun.
