SAM RAINSY (SARCASTICALLY) CONGRATULATES
VENEZUELAN PRESIDENT HUGO CHAVEZ

On February 16, SRP President Sam Rainsy wrote to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez:

"May I ask you to do a favor for the Cambodian people? Could you please convince Cambodia's prime minister, Mr Hun Sen, to be as brave and as decent as you when you decided to hold this referendum on term limits. Like you, our Prime Minister wants to stay in power for ever, or at least -- he says -- until he reaches the age of 90. He has been in power since the early 80's and we would have to be patient with him for another 30 years. But unlike you, he doesn't bother at all to seek to know whether his people want him to remain at the head of their country for so long, possibly for two (lost) generations."

Sam Rainsy Party would gain nothing from this comment. It could instead create an enemy for itself.

I totally agreed with most of you. Sam Rainsy lost his mind by supporting strong man, Chavez. It sounds like he congratulates his opponent, Strong man: Hun Sen. If he wants Chavez to convince Hun Sen to vote for No Term Limit, Sam Rainsy will stand a loser. He never wins Hun Sen. Hun Sen doesn't need to vote with the loser. Rainsy never learns a lesson. Hun Sen uses old trick to win the votes and the West; especially, the US support Hun Sen and CPP. Stupid letter to support Chavez. I now lost my interest with SRP. He should ask the world to get rid off this strongman, Hun Kwak.

The only hope for Khmer people is to topple his regime with people power.

Thank you Som. I appreciate your advice to me to stay in Hong Kong. I wish I could.
But I'm a Khmer citizen and have the right to freedom of movement and residence, including living in my homeland, Cambodia. And I' m shuttling between my two places of residence.
