Thailand denied on Saturday a statement by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen that it had agreed to a proposed troop withdrawal plan from disputed territory surrounding the Preah Vihear temple.
Lt-Gen Wibulsak Neepal, commander of 2nd Army Region, said no agreement on troop pullout was reached in a Friday meeting between Mr Hun Sen and Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwan during the latter's visit to Phnom Penh.
"There is no agreement. The matter has been raised during the defence minister's self-introduction visit to Cambodia after assuming office,'' he said.
He said that a troop withdrawal proposal would be developed by a working committee set up to handle border demarcation disputes and that he expected an outcome soon.
However, the Thai-Cambodian Joint Boundary Commission, which is working to resolve the outstanding issues, met in Bangkok this week without making any progress. The delegations could not agree on the name of a military team which will monitor the border area and on the name for the temple.
Lt-Gen Wibulsak stressed that even if a troop pull-out agreement was reached, Thailand was unlikely to withdraw all forces from the disputed areas. Those in charge of coordination would remain in place.
He also said troop withdrawal would not put Thailand at a disadvantage, saying the military has procedures to follow to uphold sovereignty.
Lt-Gen Wibulsak noted that the army was considering reopening Pha Mor E Daeng in Kantharalak district in Si Sa Ket province to tourists. The area was off limits following border tension.
A source said Saturday the Cambodian prime minister demanded Thailand pull its troops out from the disputed area along the border.
"We never agreed. If we do, it will not be easy to send them back in again,'' said the source.
Supreme Commander Gen Songkitti Jaggabatara said Saturday border disputes were raised during the meeting but no agreement was reached.
He said the issues would be worked out by joint committees set up to demarcate and develop the Thai-Cambodian border.
"But we do agree there should not be any incident in the border areas,'' said the supreme commander.
Gen Songkitti was apparently referring to clashes between Thai and Cambodian troops in October last year which left four soldiers dead.
Tension along the border flared up last July when Cambodia moved to have the temple of Preah Vihear listed as a world heritage site.

I think Hun Sen is right. As always, Thai commanders act at their own will, ignoring whatever their government is doing.
Yes, it's a problem of Cambodia whether to go for help under the internation agreement.
Don't be scared just be worried: No one on this planet reath can be as strong as sam-ach sijo Hun Sen the bastard. Once he sends all his newly promoted generals to the battlefield, all Thai soldiers standing there will kneel down on their knees to salute them and then they run away.
Hun Sen never wants the outside world to mess around with him. He's sam-ach sijo. He has all the power bestowed in him by Yuons.
When you weak and governance by impunity regime, you're not credible and degrade by others. Khmer will live under foreign suppression and intimidation till end of its dooms as a nation, like the Cham. It's sad to see that once was a superior race now live in restraint. Until Khmer united and more patriotic to save the country, then, khmer might have better chance to redeem and claim its independent back from Vietnam--or may be already too late since khmer are active only to greed, power, and money, and easily to brainwashed.
The two nations that can not be trusted are the siam and viet.

we can't unite Khmers if everyone pretend to be a superior over another. Just look at Khmers living and educating abroad. Can you talk to those guys? I have done my effort to understand the difference, but every thing seems to stem from ignorance and status. You can't reunite Khmer just because your status, but helpfulness and friendliness to each others.
Rest assured, you Khmer people, you fuck with us, your country will be obliterated. You know nothing but incite other neighbors to go war.
We know that if your prime minister (Hun Sen) decide to fuck with us, we'll fuck you good--rest assure.
To 4:56AM
Hey Siem bastard and you can rest assure that the Muslim will grind your arse alive from now on! Your Siem bastard can’t even handle the Muslim uprising in Southern Thailand and now you want to take on Cambodia? Your naked invasion of Cambodian sovereignty is uncalled for and now you want to obliterate Cambodia as if you Siem bastard can do through out the century! As far as I am concerned you Siem bastard are surrounded by enemies of your forefather and your only savior now is Uncle SAM!
Khmer people have no need to worry of all you Siem bastard because million, million, and million of landmines are waiting quietly beneath your feet and welcome you Siem bastard to hell and if you do succeed to get to Cambodia and you will be welcome by bullets and bombs!
Go back home to your birthplace in Nanchoa and stop being a fucken thief to your neighbors! By the way your homeland Nanchoa fell to the Mongol in 1252 and what you have lost to the Mongol and do not try to gain from Cambodia because it can lead to war and it would be a dream come true to drag you Siem bastard back to hell!
Siem aggression will not be rewarded!
If Thailand was currently under the administration of Thaksin Shinawatra, Hun Sen would care less if Thailand's military occupies certain portions of land surrounding Khmer temples. Hun Sen doesn't have business deals and ventures with the current Thai heads of government and so that's the only reason why he would even take a stand against the Thai. Hun Sen was able to sellout to Thaksin, but not the current Thai leaders. Hun Sen would rather have pro-Thaksin memebers in the Thai leadership.
Dear all, don't feel exiting over Siamese troop withdrawal, Siamese have gaol raison why they sent troop to occopied our land, is to invade to occupy Cambodia, they won't ever withdraw until we find the ways to force them out. The negotiation is their slicker trick not thier intention at all. Siamease problem righ now is how to provoke Mr.Hun Sen to attack them first!!!. Beyond next week and throughout the hot season, my dear compatriots you will see more frightening action taking place from Siamese side, they will in crease their provocation perhaps could lead to invation. What we can do is watching them closely then support our troops who are facing daily with Siamese invader.
May lord Buddha bless Khmer all

6:11AM!
Believe me, our UNCLE SAM will not side with the agressor no matter what.Thai can buy weapons from U.S and so does Cambodia. The problem is ,do we have enough money to buy those sophisticated weaponry.I don't think the khmer military can, because they are so fucking corrupted to the bones.Khmer soldiers are being used by the CPP to oppress its own citizen and they are good at it.
We don't know who lie in this matter.
What Hun Sen said might be true, however what Thai said mostly were not.
kkk
We have two thieves lying to each other? That is just unreal. Who's credible then who?
