CAMBODIAN military commanders said they will press their Thai counterparts during a meeting near Preah Vihear temple today to ensure their troops abstain from making new incursions into Cambodian territory. The meeting, they say, follows a renewed effort from Thai soldiers to put their stamp on Cambodian land by erecting fences and taking patrols into land that does not belong to them. Sao Socheat, deputy commander of Military Region 4, said Cambodian military officials would refer to a 2000 memorandum of understanding requiring soldiers on both sides to abstain from advancing into each other's territory. "If they accept it, then they should not be able to move their troops into Cambodian territory," he said. "Thai soldiers have been moving into disputed territory. They must stop if our border committees are going to work together to demarcate the border," he said. Srey Doek, 3rd Division Commander and the highest-ranking RCAF official on the ground there, said the "problem will be raised during the meeting in order to prevent confrontations in the future".

Khmer military leaders should talks about more modern weapons to buy, instead wasting time talking with thai-thieft...

I think the Hun Sen government should spend money to buy more modern weaponry from America not from China or Russia, they are too outdated, don't spend national budget to build your villas, new cars or beautiful girls or spend for your own interest too much. You should order to buy more heavy weapons, bullet-proof vests, humvee truck and get more trains for the soldiers and MOST IMPORTANTLY, FEED THE SOLDIERS WITH GOOD FOOD SO THAT THEIR HEALTH ARE STRONG.

Without international mediation, by all means Khmers never win them. The more longer we wait, the more we lose. They are sneaking around.

I agree with you above! the more time dragging is the more lost, what cambodia need to do now is building more military power also, not just roads, bridge...if you're weak and you can't fight back, they will keep taunting you, just like first day at school...

When we all Khmer listened to this Thai and Khmer border issues we are really painful, why? Because our Cambodia government too slow too stupid, why this government rejected the Asean members that offered help from them?

Even USA said earlier that first Asean is the first and the best option to solve this issues.

But Hun Sen thought he is the only Khmer leader that can protect our border... get lost Hun Sen.
