High freight costs last year are said to have pulled down overseas sales by Cambodia's main tobacco exporter, British American Tobacco Cambodia Ltd.
According to a report in The Phom Penh Post quoting the BAT Cambodia’s chairman, Kong Triv, in 2008 the company exported 1,000 tonnes of tobacco to Vietnam, whereas previously it had exported about 1,500 tonnes annually to Australia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
