Local news media reported that the son of 3-star general Sao Sarin, the deputy chief of staff and navy chief, was arrested by the Phnom Penh military police (PM) and sent to jail at 5:30 PM on 23 March. The general’s son is known for shooting at will in public. According to the Kampuchea Thmei newspaper, this young man has the habit of shooting wildly because he is the son of a general. Sao Sarat, the arrested man, is 29-year-old, he is a navy officer based in Kien Khleang. After the arrest of Sao Sarat, the authority confiscated a Braha handgun and several rounds of bullet shells to be used as proof. According to a PM officer, Sao Sarat is known as wild shooter and he has done so many times in the past after he became drunk. He can do this because he relied on his powerful 3-star general father and nobody would dare arrest him. However, during his latest shooting on 21 March in front of the Paris restaurant located on Kampuchea Krom street, he lost his luck and he was arrested by the PM.

Maybe, KI, need to stop its shit-filled cynicism. This arrest marks that Cambodia is starting to clean up some of its left over problems.
Instead of seeing this as a good thing, KI plays its usual biased politically motivated game and act like a little spoiled brat.
If you were my children with that "finally" yattitude, KI, I would slap the condescending attitude out of you and make your ass learn something called manner because just reading from your headlines comparing it to the actually stories, none of you have what is called MANNER. You people deserve the title of Ah Chlery.
You are proud of Cambodia is starting to clean up unjustic and you are happy to see the arresting of Sao Sarat. He will be released soon from Prey Sar after payment and intervention is made by the General 3 Stars. You do not hope that the current situation will be better than yesterday even tomorrow.
5:18 PM
The prime minister won't allow the general do that.
The military police apprhended the general's son because the PM allowed them.

Crime is crime, even though you are hidded or cover up by any manner, lightening is chasing you like excellency Hok Longdy.
This guy should be in jail for a long time. He can't be above law. If he is above law there will be so many people will take his example.
He got to go to jail!!!
don't bullshit me 5:31
you are an idiot and a moron. why only PM can give an order?
What wrong with your brain 3:19Pm?
What is wrong with title like this" Gun-Toting son of 3-star general "finally" arrested"?
KI do best to tell story that this kind of stupid action alway exist and now their is sone action to controle it! and in the story it was so pure journalist it not mention any thing to harm any body! MP and PM should proud about it!
If I am KI I would say like this as a conclusion " But this kind of run out of luck never happen to the nephews and sons of ah Kwack Hun Xen who killed many people on the street and bar! Can this is the part of pick om Chea Sim clan??????????????????????????"
So 5.31, if Hun sen allowed for the arrest, are you so sure that he won't admit the release. You're saying the same thing that everyone is saying here, think through my friend if you want to be a smart ass.
This 29 is a stupid piece of shit. Acts as if he's a 10 year old. And he's a naval officer? Needs to be stripped of all of his officer recognition and sent to prison. Pieces of shit like these have no need to be in Cambodia
OOOOOP! Who is 12:26AM? you want to destroy Cambodia Royal army and Navy?
You can in prison with Henf Peov.
kong kim
4 stare general toilet
a good example of someone thinks they are above the law of the land! we were just talking about it. this is unacceptable, period. use this case in law school to illustrate the injustice, the impunity that seem to exist in cambodian society. let's all khmer people determine to put an end to this kind of impunity, meaning nobody should be above the law of the land, period. god bless cambodia. keep talking about it, it'll get on their nerves and humiliate this kind of people! ridicule them in public so public will turn against them for this illegal act! most khmer people deserve better treatment than this! people like this should be stripped of their power and rank. no more general for this guy. it's called conduct unbecoming an officer in the military terms! god bless cambodia.
He will get out of jail in no time. Instead of arresting him, just shoot him dead on the spot especially while he's drunk. After that, cut of his penis, take off all his cloths and hang his naked body in front of his house.
In cambodia most of those robbery, purse, and jewels snatching are usally relative to high ranking officials who works for govt, like son or son inlaw to the star/moon generals, these punkass don't care about any law or police officials at all! they acting like they owned every bars, night clubs in town! they even carry guns, these guys created problems everday in phnom penh city, i hope our govt officials do something with these people, and don't care if they are relative to moon or star generals!!
Cambodian Gov't officials must clean up these junks people out of the street, don't care if they are relative to whoever! whatever! even they'r the moon, the star generals, it's a law that people must obey!!, "THE LAW!!" without law we are just like POL POT again!
i don't care if these guy is relative to King of the world! just lock them up and do time for their crimes...
LAW! if they broke the law, lock him up in jail, and let him do times! don't care if he the presindent' son or daughter! who care about that shit! the LAW is count...
I can't but notice almost everyone mentioned the word... "law." What law is currently protecting the Cambodian people? May I remind you that this mother f**ker got a (get out of jail) free card. Yes, he'll be out in no time to continued his reign of terror.
Ow weer ut jass p'dao......
that's right, my dear. the rule of laws is good for cambodia. we must demand gov't to make the rule of laws mandatory for all people in cambodia. nobody should be allowed to be above the law of the land, no one! if they do something wrong, they should be punish by law like everybody else, no exception; otherwise, it is impunity and unjust for those of us who played by the rules and obey the laws! this is a new era for cambodia and we all must demand this rule of law by strengthening the justice system; otherwise, cambodia is never stop suffering from these kind of bad people who seem to think they can do whatever they please to anyone they want without regards to the laws there to protect society at large. don't tell me that the system is weak, thus they can't enforce the laws or whatever! i say well then put the right people to do the job; if somebody is too lame or too soft to do the job seriously, then remove them because they're not right for the job in the first place! it is the leaders in charge's responsibility to enforce the rule of laws and everybody must obide by the law! it is very important for leadership to understand this rule of law philosophy! if they don't seem to understand that, educate them all, then remove them permanently from their position of power. we must not tolerate this abusing of the law, period! god bless cambodia.

I will personally release him from the prison by month's end.
No one will keep this man in jail without my permission.
Mr. PM, you should listen to me, if you want to hang on to your power. Your life and power have been vested in me, and without me, you're nothing.
