A second meeting on promoting border trade cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on March 16.

Delegates to the meeting had been scheduled to assess the results of bilateral cooperation in this field since the first meeting of this kind in the Vietnamese province of Long An in January 2008.

They also discussed measures to remove barriers to border trade activities, including those relating to customs, border gate management, and transit procedures, with the final goal of raising bilateral trade revenue this year to more than US$2 billion.

In 2008, Vietnam and Cambodia posted US$1.7 billion in two-way trade, of which border trade made up 65 percent.

keep in mind too that cambodia is not all about only vietnam trade, etc... cambodia needs trade with all countries in the world, not just vietnam! this is what people have to understand. the world is bigger than vietnam and cambodia, you know! sick and tired to hear only about vietnam trade and businesses in cambodia. majority of khmer people don't care and are not that fond of vietnam gouging the market in cambodia. we prefer japanese, korean, the USA, the EU, and so on, not so much of vietnam, thailand or whatever those neighboring countries are! let's don't forget that the world is big out there, beyond, cambodia, vietnam, thailand and so on! god bless cambodia.

What? you think we have been turning down trade from the rest of the world or something? Vietnam just happened to be kind enough to give us trade over 1 billion usd, and we aint gonna toasted that out of the window because you are a racist.
