Mu Sochua Barred from IPU Seminar [-CPP discrimination against Mu Sochua?]

OPEN LETTER

March 9, 2009

Prominent Member of Parliament of Cambodian Opposition Party Prevented from Attending IPU Regional Seminar at Inter-Continental Hotel, March 9, 2009.

Mu Sochua, MP from the Sam Rainsy Party was prevented from entering the "Regional Seminar on the Role of Parliaments in Promoting Peaceful and Sustainable Societies in South East Asia". The seminar is co-sponsored by the National Assembly, the Senate and the Inter-Parliamentary Union(IPU). The objective of the seminar is for elected members of parliament from S.E. Asia to converse on issues that are prevalent in post-war societies and on conflict resolutions and the role of Parliament during and after conflict.

MP Mu had an invitation letter from the National Assembly, did sign in but was not provided a name tag. As MP Mu proceeded to enter the seminar room she was stopped by the chief security of the National Assembly who stated that he received strict order not to allow anyone without a name tag in. He also acknowledged that he knew MP, MU.

The question is: Would the same order have applied to a Member of Parliament from the Cambodian People's Party?
  • Such treatment of an elected representative of the people is a violation of her/his right and dignity.
  • Such a treatment of a prominent member of a MP from the opposition party is political harassment.
  • Such a treatment of a woman MP is gender discrimination.
MP Mu was barred from entering the 3rd Economic Forum on 5 February, 2009. The Forum was organized by the Cambodian Supreme National Economic Authority.

MP Mu was scolded by the President of the National Assembly at a Women's Day event on March 5, 2009 for stating her view on Voice of America of the decision of the National Assembly to lift the parliamentary immunity of Sam Rainsy, MP and leader of the opposition in Cambodia. The decision of the Permanent Committee of the National Assembly clearly violated article 80 of the Constitution.

Ego idea:
Sam Rainsy Party sound like a personal Party. As Mr. Sam Rainsy lost his immunity, therefore Mrs. Mu Sochea will not able to take part at any meeting or convention. Can you find different name.

CPP is targeting to block PM Mu several times. CPP knows well that PM MU has good background of knowledge and understanding the weakness of CPP.

However, in the forum, PM Son Chhay was present there and faced with Chheang Vun a person who advocated Cambodia to thank Vietnam for their invasion.

PM MU doesn't discourage from her struggle. She has this day because of her relentless struggling.

Is she truly Neak Sne-Ha Jeat Khmer?!

She should have a new party with a good name like the first Queen of Khmer "Liv Yi" or "Khmer Pride"

Get a life, Bitch (Mu). Stop trying to sneak into places for civilized people. You are just a wild monkey, you got that?

Once PM MU was a minister, but now she is a very adorable opposition MP. Her political trajectory has turned from a luxurious life as a minister to a food-on-ground opposition PM.

He has played her very good role model for all Cambodians particularly for women.

Bullshit, no Khmer woman wants to have anything to do with a French whore like her (Mu).

1:11 AM,

Yes! You are right! I'm both Spanish and Italian. In fact, almost every member of the new generation will back Ms. Sochua Mu since Jasmina is a friend of the youth around the world; it brings us together to rally for the causes of ALL women regardless their faith or religion, race and social class.

Myself as Anna Maria from Spain and Italy
Athena, Cassandra and Eva from Greece
Wangari and Ridhaa from Africa
Aisha from Middle East
Neeriratana Angkor from Cambodia
Fatima from Abu Dhabi (United Emirates)
Chandrika and Jayashree from India
Anasuya from Bangladesh
Kamini fron Sri Lanka
Meiling, Chu Hua and Xiu Mei from China
Heidi, Elsa and Ada from German
Elizabeth and Victoria from England
Marie-Madelina from France
Jessica, Emma and Johanna from U.S.
Abigail from Australia
Miss Lopez & Miss Perez from South America
Abhasra from Thailand
Catherine from Scotland
Annika, Malena and Victoria from Sweeden

This is just a small list, with a few select members, but with one intimate and beautiful vibe. We all pretty much contributed to the causes such as justice, freedom and democratic system, which will be summoned by our very dear friend Jasmina (the Cosmopolite of the Movements and “New Waves” around the world) to support women such as Ms. Mu Sochua.

Meiling,

You meant by me as Anna Maria.

Sorry for the mistake. My friend Meiling is just here by my side. We both tried to write the same thing...

Anna Maria,

Thank you for correcting the mistake! You see people, how we as women around the globe support our female counterparts and growth in this gap from generation to generation.

Hey Girls,

Is your friend (or leader of the group) Jasmina going to rally the youth around the globe to support our MP Mu Sochua? Why? I have heard that your dear friend is not even involved in politics? By the rules and regulations of her work codes, she is not supposed to get involved in politics. How can your "very dear friend" Jasmina is able to "summon" or send for you girls when she is busy with her frantic schedule?

3:40 AM - Dear A sympathiser of the Youth Movement for Peace and Development,

We all know that our dear friend Jasmina has a "super" frantic schedule. In fact, she is NOT involved in politics. She just CAN'T and she doesn't want to get involved either. She is just GUIDING us and showing the good way to take. She is our GURU. A guru of DEEDS (Good ones please!) and COMPASSION that's all. She was the ONE who invited us ALL to get fascinated by the reading of Bhagavad-Gita.

Should you be interested, please let us know. In fact, the Bhagavad-Gita is a form a holly scripture (in Sanskrit, but you can find it in English too) that people should at least read it once in their lifetime. The book is about Right and Wrong, Bad versus Good, especially a code of ETHICS and CONDUCTS in an honest way.

Victoria,

Don't waste your time with Hun Sen and his cronies because those people are not into doing good deeds at all. All they care is POWER with no mores. In fact, those kind of people are just like demons and evil entities with dark, dark mind.

Areak Prey,

Personnaly, I don't think my King Sihamoni and the Opposition party have POWER like Hun Kwack and cronies have. It's so obvious even a child from Toumbouctou knows it.

It's in deed very sad to see that!!! I hope one day Cambodia and her people will taste PEACE and immerge into democracy.

Areak Prey,

Keep being a good person!!!

Bye for now.

4:36 AM,

You meant a child from Timbuktu instead of “t o u m b o u c t o u”.
