PHNOM PENH, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Prime Minister Hun Sen has confirmed that former commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) Ke Kim Yan will soon become deputy prime minister in charge of anti-drug trafficking, said English-language daily newspaper the Phnom Penh Post on Friday."In the near future, General Ke Kim Yan will be appointed deputy prime minister, and he will be chairman of the National Authority for Combating Drugs," the premier told the closing session of the annual conference of the Interior Ministry here on Thursday.
Once on Tuesday, Tea Banh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, told local media that "the government will send the request (of the appointment) to the National Assembly. When the National Assembly approves it, you will know."
If approved, Ke Kim Yan will become the government's 10th deputy prime minister.
The general has been without a position since being removed as RCAF chief by a Royal Decree on Jan. 22.

it's crazy for people to come to this forum to get information on cambodia as the blog are so full of negative people and attitude as if they all have something bias or against cambodia! my god, get a life. i mean not all here are bad, but a few are die-hard negative attitude about everything and anything cambodia. i'm so glad some smart people in cambodia and around the world do think and see things differently in cambodia. let the negative attitude people bitch and whine all they want; after all it freedom of expression, but on the other hand, smart, educated people knew better than to take their rhetoric seriously on the blog nowadays! god bless cambodia.

That's not fair at all 11:00 AM, just not fair at all for you to have made one comment at 10:58 AM, and then turn around 2 minutes later to make another one at 11:00 AM... What would have you accomplished by doing that?
This is just my theory:
Hun Sen has appointed Ke Kim Yan in the position of Minister of Anti-Drug Trafficking. Eventually, Hun Sen will conjure up some conniving scheme that will trap Ke Kim Yan with involvements in some sort of drug-trafficking scandal involving drug sales or whatever. Ke Kim Yan will be accused of corruption and involvement in illegal business. Hun Sen will then call upon the National Police to arrest Ke Kim Yan and place him in Prey Sar Prison. This will be a way for Hun Sen to get rid of Ke Kim Yan, decrease Chea Sim's support base and further drain influence out from Ke Kim Yan's loyalists in the RCAF.
Once again, it's just my theory, nothing more, nothing less...just some fun.

Only animals without brain who are still thinking that Hun sen is not mentally handicap leader. Just a few weeks ago, he has demoted Ke Kim yann for his illegal businesses dealings. Now he said that that criminal can be promoted to Deputy Prime Minister. Can'r you see that as a joke and a mental problem? If a person has committed a crime for illegals businesses dealing, how can he be promoted to deputy Prime Minister?
