It is common belief that the Vietnam War was a civil war when in fact it wasn’t; it was a war of conquest of Southeast Asia, for Ho Chi Minh was not a Vietnamese nationalist rather he was an international communist. Ho Chi Minh, cofounder of the French communist party, held a position of leadership in the international communist movement – the Comintern. Ho was sent by the Comintern to Siam (Thailand), Malaya and Singapore to preside over the creation of communist parties in these countries. Moscow also put him in charge of creating communist parties in Cambodia and Laos. All were encouraged to contribute to the international proletarian revolution, and all of them reported to the Comintern’s Far Eastern Bureau headed by Ho.1As part of the “Communist Internationale funded by the Soviet Union, Ho Chi Minh founded the "Indochinese Communist Party in 1930. Aping his mentor — the butcher Joseph Stalin – Ho’s ultimate plan was to establish a greater Vietnam by gobbling up his neighbors, Laos, Vietnam, and later other S.E. Asian countries as Stalin and Russia did to its neighbors in establishing the Soviet Union.
After the Geneva Agreements in 1954, Ho Chi Minh saw to it that several hundred young Cambodians were taken north, indoctrinated in communism and given military training. They were later armed and sent back, where they became the basis of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia’s Eastern Zone. Knowing of Ho’s close ties to Moscow and his intent to emulate his hero, the butcher Joseph Stalin, by creating a Soviet-style Union of South East Asia, China began training and arming the Pol Pot faction of the Khmer Rouge as a counterbalance to Soviet influence. China believed that revolution should come from within. North Vietnam enabled the Khmer Rouge to take over Phnom Penh in 1975 by providing logistics, ammunition, artillery and backup by Vietnamese troops making them complicit in the genocide of at least one and one half million Cambodians.

It's not entirely about being paranoid my friend, it's about repeating history. Of course Vietnam is not going to officially annex Cambodia in the sense that geographic borders will be changed. It's the progressive influx of Vietnamese nationals coming into Cambodia and eventually one day causing the Cambodians to be alienated and disenfranchised in their own country. This is what happened with Kampuchea Krom and unfortunately Cambodia ended up losing territories as a result. Will Cambodia be territorially annexed by Vietnam. Of course not. However, we can begin to see the waning away and de-emphasis on Khmer culture and integrity.

remember, "there's no fear but fear itself." understand i suggest people study sociology as it will reveal a lot about the cycle of civilization on the planet because as sociology points out, no civilization on the planet can last forever. civilization all over the all do come and go; just look at history, one will see this pattern since the dawn of man. so, it this histeria is true at all, then if probably don't last forever as sociology points out. reason? well, one of the reasons is because no one can live forever on this planet; i mean, no man ever live past 120 years, plus, they'll be old by their 70s or 80s, let alone 100s. so that explains it, didn't it? so let's celebrate while we are all still living because all of us will one day be gone, whether we wanted to or not! it's nature! so don't worry, just enjoy life while we have one. thank you and god bless all.

How paranoia you mean in this article? I don't see it is paranoid like what you compared it to Pol Pot. It is extremely different. The author has weighed his argument very well. He is not paranoid. I am posting this article and reading this article is not going to be paranoid about Vietnam. But it is the truth, the truth that the author of this article has demonstrated his deep comprehension into the expansionism attempt of VN under Ho's direction.
The author also demonstrated the possible balance between China and VN. China is absolutely obstacle to VN's ambition to dominate Cambodia. You have to understand his intellectual contribution.
Cambodian people have learned good lesson from extremist regimes or paranoid political groups. In our generation, Cambodian people should not be easily labeled as paranoia because of their expressing the opposing opinion. This ideology has been used everyday from CPP's permanent members to lash out all those critics. If you listened Kiev Kannaridh, he is good in lashing out those who are critical without having proper sense of Khmerness and progressive backup/solution for Cambodia. CPP is playing the game for power solely, not for the interest of Cambodia and her citizenry.
