The Khmer Rouge's former foreign minister has asked to be released from detention in Cambodia ahead of his trial at the country's genocide tribunal,
He gives age and ill health as reasons for his release.
Ieng Sary, who is 83, is charged with crimes against humanity and war crimes.
But the former Khmer Rouge minister says his continued detention by the United Nations-backed court is making him sick and violates his rights.
The appeal came a day after former Khmer Rouge prison chief, known as Duch, also sought his freedom.
Duch's trial is under way, but no date has been set for the trials of Ieng Sary and three other Khmer Rouge leaders held by the court.
