Hun Sen on EIU instability report in Cambodia: Deny! Deny! Deny!

PM again refutes UK report purporting instability of Cambodia

PHNOM PENH, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has once again dismissed a UK report claiming that the kingdom is among the top five countries at high risk of political instability amid the current global economic climate, the official Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP) said on Tuesday.

With its report, British think tank the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) possibly aimed to interrupt the foreign investment in Cambodia, the AKP quoted the premier as telling the 5th Asia Economic Forum here on Monday.

Fortunately, all the projects in Cambodia were now going ahead, and didn't retreat, he added.

The premier also revealed that the EIU had invited him to visit England in September and he still hesitated whether to accept it or not.

The recently issued EIU report classified the risk of social upheaval and political unrest as high or very high in 95 countries, as a result of the current global financial crisis. Cambodia was ranked fourth in terms of such threat.

In late March, Hun Sen had already rejected the report, saying that "we have political stability and live in peace now."

"We know that their assessment had other purposes inside," he added.

i agree with the prime minister that this biased report was designed to discourage foreign investment coming to cambodia, especially from the western nations! it was a misleading reports as it was obvious they were very biased against cambodia for political reasoning. they are obvious been hanging in the wrong group of people for too long. let's be fair to cambodia. hey, khmer people had suffered long enough already, it's time to open the doors of opportunity to let cambodia shine brightly like the rest of the world. there are other ways people can deal with cambodia, trying to isolate cambodia again is not one of them. how about treating cambodia fairly and better, perhaps will make us look to you more positively. hey, after all, we all share the same planet, aren't we? the bottom line, cambodia wan to develop, so don't try to boss us around without regards to the rule of law, ok! god bless cambodia.

Hun Sen disagree with the Global Witness report and Economist Intelligence Unit report.

And you agree with Hun Sen.

Hun Sen is the most dumb ass mother fucker leader in the world. Because he give away Koh Tral to Vietnam. We are not only lost Koh Tral, also we lost almost 50% of our ocean territory.

Do you still agree with mother fucker Hun Sen?

Lots of selfish people live in Cambodia, only think of their own gain/profit- NOT OF THE COUNTRY AS A WHOLE. Wanting overseas help and investment stability? How about 90 or 95% help-fund would go to the privat pokets of the powerful ones instead of the states? Selfish, Selfish and will be till the day they kick the bucket. Funds will dry up, as everyone is not going to be believe all the lies that keep forming so far.

Saying that Cambodia is at the brink of war makes me uneasy. It is hard to understand that still there are Khmers who want to experience mayhem of the past twenty or thirty years ago again. Come on! Wanting peace, stability and life decency for our people, one doesn’t need to be Hun Sen supporter! Maybe enemies of Cambodia would see that happens again in Cambodia in order for them to take over the country. Our memories of war are still too fresh to think of having another hell again. Please do not mix up individuals and the desire of peace for our people. Hun Sen or opposition politicians are just individuals. Cambodians don’t want to see war again, that the reality! Only with peace, economic progress and stability can we survive as people. Otherwise, you would make yuons and siems happy. Doctor Galabru of LICADHO is not known to be Hun Sen supporter or the opposition supporter. But she doesn’t agree with IU of the Economist either! I do still prefer Cambodia to Bagdad or Kabul. Too bad if you are not agree with the majority of Khmers who are peace lovers like myself. Good luck to you any way. You are entitled to your opinions as I am free to express mind. Civilized peoples do not need to insult each others!!!
