The Kampuchea Thmei reported that, in the Preah Vihear temple zone which is a flashpoint for the numerous clashes between Cambodian and Thai troops, in the morning of 07 April, a tense confrontation took place when Thai commandos were sent into the Phnom Troap and Veal Entry areas, located in front of Preah Vihear temple. According to a Cambodian military official, this confrontation took place when Thai soldiers spread their forces as if to start another clash. Cambodian troops were also bracing themselves to welcome any aggression from the Thai soldiers. The same military official indicated that the tense situation was diffused after local commanders from both sides called and talked to each others. Even though the situation is quiet now, Cambodian military officers claimed that the armed confrontation is still intense and Thai troops are still trying to move into Cambodian territories.
