Global Witness had issued another statement last week relating to corruption and cronyism in awarding mining concessions in Cambodia.
The criticism was met with a harsh response from Mr. Hor Nambora (pictured), Cambodian Ambassador to London, who called for financial backers to cut their financial supports to Global Witness because he accused Global Witness of waging a vicious campaign against the government of Cambodia.
The Global Witness' report, issued on 5th May, criticised Cambodia's donors such as the EU, the U.S, China, Japan and the World Bank for failing to address the corruption issues with the Cambodian government amid amounting evidence of official corruption and the plundering of state assets.
Mrs. Eleanor Nichol, Global Witness' representative based in London, said that Global Witness had made great effort to meet the representatives from the donor countries to present them with evidence that Global Witness had uncovered from its investigations, but some donors refused to meet them and some agreed with Global Witness' concerns but they all failed to make any promises to take actions to address the corruption issues in Cambodia.
Mrs. Nichol said that there are mountains of evidence of corruption in Cambodia which have hampered development efforts. She added that Global Witness had already presented clear evidence of corruption to those donors.
The Global Witness' report titled "Cambodia: A Country for Sale" has exposed how the Cambodian government awarded mining concessions to themselves, their immediate families and their cronies without resulting in any benefits or little benefits to the nation and the people of Cambodia.

Hor Nam Bora is only good at defending corruption and human right abuses. Corruption in mining concessions happened all the times. Even at his father's Foreign Ministry, corruption is at its very worst.
You should see 5 Bora's wife. When she goes to Cambodia she took with her diamond to sell. Last month, my gf's mother bought Phamoung from her then she sold 4 times price higher than people bought at LB.
Hor Numhong should not make Ministry of foreign affair as his Kingdom by putting all his children in post under this ministry.
Hor nambora!shut up,you are Cambodia Ambassador to London, because your father Hor numhong put you there he is one of the corrup Ministry in Cambodia. Tell us what is not FOR SALE in CAMBODIA
Hor NamBora is a Barking Dog from Phnom Penh regime .
And his wife,Sataing,is a good Diamand seller while her husband was Canberra as Ek Oudom Ambassador.
Congratulations to the couple.
In Ministry of Foreign Affairs, each Department was controlled by someone with the surname "Hor". If you want some documents signed you will have to pay a lot of money under the table and you will see under the signature there is a surname "Hor".
The dog(Chhkai's Hun Xen) Hor 5 Bora is the corrupt man and he defend only the corrupt people.
cambodia, please be careful with too many license for mining of mineral in cambodia. did you aware that many, uncontrolled mining business in cambodia can cause a lot of environmental damage to our lands and natural resources? mining uses dangerous chemical to extract gold, silver, etc, then being dumped into our waterways which poisoned fish, peopple and anything that use water. not good in the long term, especially when there's no control or regulation so company can be sued later if they still damaged the land, the environment and causes harm to people's lives, etc... be study the effect for long term and put law into place to control them. thank you and god bless cambodia.
this guy want to save government but behind his head he intend to kill Cambodia internationally so that he can be an Ambassader as long as his dad not dead.
