Opposition lawmaker Mu Sochua said Thursday she would consider dropping a defamation suit against the prime minister if Hun Sen drops his against her.
The two are heading for a legal battle, after Mu Sochua filed a complaint in Phnom Penh court alleging Hun Sen had made disparaging, sexually discriminating remarks about her in the run-up to the July 2008 general election.
Hun Sen countersued, saying her accusation defamed him.
“To protect the country, if both sides agree to withdraw the complaints, I agree,” Mu Sochua said Thursday, as a guest on “Hello VOA.”
The Sam Rainsy Party lawmaker said she had complained about Hun Sen’s comments to protect the value of women in general, especially because the government has said it values women in politics and administration.
“I just want responsibility for the words spoken by the prime minister,” she said.
Some members of the National Assembly are considering suspending Mu Sochua’s parliamentary immunity, but she said she was not worried as long as “everything follows the law.”

Hun Sen is too dunb to understand what she is talking about.
It is all petty business. It all shows that Khmers cannot work together. However, the big losers are HS and his "bull-dog" advisors/judges/lawyers/CPP MPs - who never fail to confirm that they are the thugs ruuning the little Cambodian show.

I'm wondering what would happen if Mu Sochua said something like this: "There is a stupid, blind person who is the puppet of Youn in our current government". Would Hun Sen sue her for defamation? If he does, can she countersue Hun sen?

I believe that most of the comments are expressing the realities. You can't just forgive and forget those who insult others, commit crimes, and so on.
I understand your point of views. However, I don't believe that you would sit still if you are a victim.
I'm not arguing with you. You are very proud of the development in Cambodia. Do you think that it can be better? Even though I live abroard, I have contacts with my poor relatives in Cambodia. They always tell me that they don't feel safe because there are so many bad things happening. I don't know about you? If you are among those rich and poerful people, you Cambodia is a real heaven for you.

MP Mu Suchua has became a reasonable woman by considering dropping her case versus Samdech Deycho. In the first procedure, she should need to withdraw her case from the court, then Samdech Deycho will act the same. No one get hurt.

I think she stops short if she drop her law suit. It is similar to Sihanouk allowing Hun Sen to take part in prime minister with Ranariddh. I think it would be better if we allow due process; however, it's seem to be the Cambodian way to stop short for everything or Yol Yok. You know it, Yol Yok is now obsolete and it is not good for development. But I respect her decision...
Most of you are too quick to react to what is likely an indirect way to ask Hun Sen to think again about the situation. This is a shrewd move, not a sign of weakness or faintness of heart.

Check the Cambodian website for Ministry of Interior, is this New Phally person for real or an imposter. Fraudulently impersonatinng someone you are not, especially an official government worker can be criminal.

I don't know anybody that fits your need. Perhaps, your true candidate is Hun Sen because he's real, never plays and never stops even if he needs to kill his own people and gives land to his supreme Youn for his power.

Go to the province and have a look at the farmers. Everybody work for himself and they do not work together.
If one machine for work is too expensive for one farmer he could work together with other farmers.
Together they could buy the machines and share it so they can afford the price of the machine.

99% of the houses build in Phnom Penh are a nightmare and the quality is worst.

Madam Mu has decided with the right thing. Her suing is not any kind of hatred or power contending, but she simply confirmed that to find justice for all Khmer women and strengthening the rule of law in Cambodia.
She has well realized that the court system in Cambodia is really bad, but why she did it because she wants to tell all Khmer people and the world that Cambodia court is just the tool of the powerful and the bourgeoisie.
Madam Mu is correctly deciding to withdrew the suit if Hun Sen agrees to withdraw his too.

We should wait and see how the politicians solve their difference. We understand that if Mme Mu continues her law suit, there will be many immediate negative consequences to her political career and her lawyer will be in trouble. And I think no other lawyer dares to represent her.
MS,before u decided to sue anyone u must evaluate ur strenth and weakness to assess ur wining probability.I think u r not smart enough and not a qualified MP (won by chance), u r only able to get people attention but unable to convinced them)what u r doing has no gain on ur part but as a looser instead.No body will pay attention to u bcose u completely waste their time and money.

This is a pattern and continuation of failures within the SRP.
This is an example of why so many SRP were defected to CPP. Their inability to carried through their due process or lack thereof. Their supporter can no longer sit and wait for for another 5 years with the same outcome.
We need a new leader!
I would fight all the way. She has the people and the international backing... I don't see why... HS government will not gain by not following the law in the eyes of Int'l. Will HS risk all the development so far in Cambodia to put Cambodian in depression or economic sanction? If so, Cambodian people will uprise and the people power will take place.... It is worth the fight for the nation.
Nothing loss from her, Mu Sochua is a very flexible politician.
Hun Sen has learned a great lesson from this time, and next time his public speech will become more instructional.
