Khmer Rouge tribunal prosecutors moved on Tuesday to enter additional evidence in the trial of former jailer Duch, as his trial at the UN-backed court continued.

More evidence could be entered from 148 research documents related to the prison Duch ran, Tuol Sleng, to support further charges against him.

Duch, 66, whose real name is Kaing Kek Iev, is already facing charges of war crimes, crimes against humanity, torture and murder, for his role as director at Tuol Sleng, where prosecutors say more than 12,000 Cambodians were tortured into confessions that led to their execution.

Duch’s defense lawyers argued that more evidence would further delay the trial.
