Phnom Penh - Cambodia rebuked Thailand on Saturday for reopening a debate over ancient Preah Vihear temple - and vowed it is ready to fight.
"Cambodia welcomes Thailand militarily, diplomatically, internationally or through peaceful negotiations," Hor Namhong said.
"It (border fighting) has happened twice... if they want to send their troops to Cambodia a third time, we will welcome them too," he said.
Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva made a one-day visit to Cambodia last week in an attempt to push forward border talks, but did not discuss the temple with his counterpart Hun Sen.
His subsequent comments only appear to have reignited the dispute.
"I heard that the second Thai commander on the border put his troops on alert and I'd like to tell them that Cambodian soldiers are also on alert," Mr Hor Namhong added.
Cambodia and Thailand have been at loggerheads over the land around the Preah Vihear temple for decades, but tensions spilled over into violence last July when the temple was granted UN World Heritage status.
Thailand intends to counter the UN declaration this week at the World Heritage meeting in Spain, with a proposal that the grounds of the temple be placed under joint Thai-Cambodian maintenance.
The 11th century Preah Vihear, atop a high and sheer cliff in Si Sa Ket province, is almost impossible to reach without going through Thai territory. Almost all visitors approach from the Thai side.
Soldiers from Cambodia and Thailand continue to patrol the area and occasional outbreaks of violence between them have triggered gunbattles that have killed seven troops in the past year.
The border between the two countries has never been fully demarcated.

The Kingdom of Cambodia belongs to all Khmer born including Khmer Chen and Khmer Cham.
Thai nation is so blinded with GREED and lack of knowledge of understanding . Thailand is on her way to war with Cambodia. Not only go to war Cambodia but also with the United Nations. Preah Vihear Temple and it surrounding is always belonged to Cambodia and will always & forever belonged to Cambodia. Not Thailand.

6:57 that's is the game. I believe in this view also. Mr. 5 Hong and Hun Sen have no military power beyond the left over and scattered former KR soldiers. Yes those guys are brutal and might even kill 10 foreign soldier for 1 of them, but one air strike can wipe them all out. Where else are we going to get our supplies of soldiers? Draft?

But we know that Hun Sen and 5 Hong is sure of their stand because of only one other reason: Vietnam.

I think the war with Thailand will never get away, never, and it might happend soon or later, or after next week UNESCO submit, if Thai can not get what they want then we must get ready for fight.

When I was in Cambodia, I had a chance to talk to all the guys at the volleyball court. Most of them think the next war will be with Thailand. This was before the Preah Vihear issue. Maybe they're right.
War is bad, but sometime it's the right thing to do.
All Khmers, Khmer Chen, Khmer Cham and Oversea's Khmers, includet Khmer Surin, Sisaket, Boreirum, Chantaborei and others, we have to be one Khmer for the time being.
The ex Khmer Rouge soldiers are lining up in the front line to fight with Siems....until no more Khmer Army and then Hanoi will strike in the second round to bit the Siems.
We'll see the tanks & planes will operate by Hanoi to fly in the sky and to roll on the ground under the flag of the Kindom of Cambodia.

yea, we're at a disadvantage of not having air control but if we barricade ourselves well, no planes can do that much damage. History has proven that. Just make sure to prevent Thai from destroying and cutting off the supply line. That seems to be what we're most vulnerable without air control.
Remember. You don't have to win a war by winning battles. You could lose every battle you fight but still win the war if you play it right. Look at at Vietnam. The North and their Viet Cong lost technically every battle but they won the war politically and Americans had to pack their equipment and go home.
