According to Hun Sen, the lifting of Mu Sochua’s parliamentary immunity does not threaten democracy, but that it is a direct expression of democracy since the decision is made by elected officials rather than by NGOs “which only represent a small group of people.”
Hun Sen declined the offer made by the civil society which is looking for a settlement that could avert a lawsuit against the SRP MP from Kampot.

On Wednesday 17 June, during a ceremony for the distribution of diplomas at the Royal Administration University, Hun Sen indicated that he did not wish to find an amicable settlement in his defamation case opposing him to Mu Sochua.

“I did read the letter sent by several civil society organizations, inviting me to find a non-legal solution to this affair. But, it is too late, and currently, I wish to leave the judges do their work,” Hun Sen said.

The progress of democratic life must goes hand in hand with the rule of law,” Hun Sen justified. Hun Sen is accused of using the judicial system to silence his critics.

“You have the right to express yourself, but not to attack on the honor and the dignity of others,” Hun Sen pointed to the opposition.

Hun Sen called on government lawyers to pay close attention to the words pronounced by opposition members and by activists of the civil society. He added that, in the future, one person could be hit by several lawsuits “for different charges.”

Regarding a possible demonstration to protest the lifting of Mu Sochua’s parliamentary immunity, Hun Sen threatened to organize his own counter-demonstration.

“Go ahead, try it, if you don’t believe me,” he launched.

According to Hun Sen, the lifting of Mu Sochua’s parliamentary immunity does not threaten democracy, but that it is a direct expression of democracy since the decision is made by elected officials rather than by NGOs “which only represent a small group of people.”

If I were Mu Sochua I would let Hun sen burn me alive.

Unfortunately I got nothing to compare with Ms Mu Sochua.

During the Protestant Reformation the Roman Catholic burnt many Protestant Christians alive yet the Protestant Christians have been growing and populating everywhere.

Prostituting while legislating is against the law, and therefore the removal of parliamentary immunity is necessary.

I a gree with you. The Law in our coutry is in Hun Sen hand, but if we all together soon Hun's government will be go down, it time to bring our Freedom of speech, Freedom of Right.

We all have been enought with KR regime already and now we all have to deal with Hun Sen regime a gain. If Hun's smart he work as a team with Khmer around the world then our country will be free again.

But Hun Sen afraid that khmer people try to take his power away that why he stuck with a Youn, that how uneducation people brain thinking.

Hun you need to think about that you are khmer we all khmer too, and no body try to hurt you, only we want our Nation to be safe, our khmer people have enought suffering .

Since the people of Khmer in Srok Khmer unconsciously perfer not to puzzle out the implications of various possible actions of Hun SenVarman but instead to simply repeat to themselve, "Hun Sen is always right!", therefore they have precisely demonstrated how their inability or unwillingness to question authority by condemning Hun SenVarman's repeating broken promises and the full extent of the CPP's fulling oppression. That's the ultimate reason why Hun Sen can simply do whatever he godly please, because only the few Khmer people who bravely think as Mu Sochua, not million Khmer people.
