Sun Sokun Mealea and Suth Dina, two members of the Norodom Ranariddh Party (NRP) sent their resignation to the party leaders.
They denounced the management of the party. In her resignation letter sent to Chhim Seakleng, the interim NRP president, on 22 June, Sun Sokun Mealea, the former NRP deputy secretary-general who was also in charge of the party’s women movement, indicated that her resignation was motivated by her discouragement.
“I dedicated everything, energy, time, money, as well as my former party, the “Khmer Front Party (KFP)” to give birth to the NRP. But, at the end, I found out that I did all this for nothing because the NRP is undermined by a large number of problems. It is a party without vision, without justice, and without solidarity. There are only grudges and jealousy,” she wrote while adding that it is time for her to resign.
Suth Dina raises the same problems as his colleague.
The pair was known to be among the most vindictive anti-government activists. They led several demonstrations to oppose the celebration of 07 January (date of the Vietnamese invasion of Cambodia) and the Vietnamese influence in Cambodia. Along with their former party, the KFP, the pair decided to join the NRP to save prince Ranariddh when the latter was evicted from Funcinpec. Since Ranariddh left politics for a position at the Royal Palace, the NRP was plunged into chaos.

well, it's called being smarter and cleverer. if something is going nowhere, it is natural to change course or change strategy. like if a house burned down, you don't just sit there and get burnt as well, you escape. same concept, hello!!!

i'm not so surprise about this good observation. it's the old way of khmer society die hard, to say the least. cambodia and society needs change and fresh ideas! more reforms, please! i dislike the old way or old system of our soeciety, so full of grudges, gossiping, good-for-nothing whining, bitching, complaining, no vision for future, only me, me, me egotistical thinking, injustice, too much immunity, double standard, corruption, greed, elitists, brutal, etc, etc..., the list just goes on and on and on!!!! please demand real reforms in khmer society and system. do have open-mind and learn from everybody in the world, yes!!! god bless cambodia.
oh, don't forget to mention inequality as well in the old way or system. thank god, nobody on the planet lives forever that way! talk about absolutism type of system! god help cambodia to reform and change for the better for all and country.

5:15am, the difference is these two individuals have the guts to stand up and say something while the majority who claimed they knew all along just sit still, act dumb, and watch. it's called not being proactive due to fear or culture, perhaps. that's what make an effective leader stands out from the crowd. again, your comment above reminded me of an ignorant person's view point. it's ok, though, because i can understand the reason some people like you above chose to be silent while a few of the bright ones did have the courage to say or do something about it. again, my point, is don't hate, be educated and be proactive and be open-minded. it will make a difference for everyone, ok!
In fact, I know these two guys (Mealea & Dian) many years ago. They have been doing their best for Cambodia. But sometimes, I think they should learn and change their behavior and egoism from being good by themsevles to being good with others. They are good people, but if really good with good purpose, why they can't work with other parties such SRP, HRP? I know they have the differences, but they should work through the differences. Otherwise, SomDach Hun Sen said just a few days ago, even your own small party can't run well, effectively, sufficently, how dare to say that you can lead the country?? Given this, I think if they can't work with the differences, their future will not better. The same thing with our country, we need difference and work with the difference and for the difference.

Beside, I don't respect a proactive leader that lead people to the wrong way. A good leader should have vision and stand for what he/she belive for. A jump around leader would not benefit our people.

They say the weak will fall by wayside as evidenced by these two RNP members. Their tunnel vision led them to their leaving the party. They don't have the conscience to stand with their people so they are the weak ones. I bet these two individuals will be dropping out from any cambodian political party that they belong to.

Who would want to manage the NRP? It's so lackluster and unorganized. Plus, the members, especially ah Rannaridh have no vision and are all mainly a bunch of fighting little spoiled brats. This goes to the members of the royal family in Cambodian politics in general.
