One of the most corrupt regime in the world accuses US of meddling its affairs for revealing the scale of its corruption

Cambodia accuses US of meddling in its affairs

ABC Radio Australia

Cambodia has accused the United States of meddling in its internal affairs after the US ambassador said the impoverished nation was losing up to 500 million dollars a year through corruption.

US ambassador to Cambodia, Carol Rodley, says rampant graft is preventing the country from developing its public services, education and healthcare.

Cambodia's anti-graft chief, Om Yentieng, says the ambassador's remarks were an attempt to undermine a government which has the support of the people.

Transparency International last year ranked Cambodia as one of the most corrupt countries in the world, placing it 14th among 180 nations studied.

US isn't the corruption free country itself on record, but because of its strong constitutional base and democratic representative allowing every 4 year for Presidency, every 2 year for House representative and every 6 year for Senate to be voted in or out by popular vote. That in itself allowed voters to replace the corruptive elements regularly.

Other hand Cambod moi, its minsiters stay in one place for life and Senate was hand picked or Assemblymen were hard core partisans and automatically assigned ministers for life.

Citizens Kor 5 can't do nothing but starve and die while ministers amassed wealth with government protection.

Imagine Hun Sen has 4,000 personal guards plus private access to fleet of planes. This guard unit was the one staged coup and ruined democratic process.
US ,as one of donors, can say and point out weaknesses in Cambodia government for the sake of humanity and democratic principles. So Cambodia must deal with it as long as its Government remains incapable and unchanged.

HUN SEN must pass the corruption law if he wants to see Cambodia poverty improve.

To US Ambassador in Cambodia/Government:

Please help khmer people to get out from the grips of Hun Sen/CPP by bringing Hun Sen and his gangs to be trialed at the International Criminal Court (ICC) as soon as possible.

no meddling in others business; it's the technical used not the critics itself. hello, wake up, it's not the ambassador's job to meddle in a country's affairs, given it's not detrimental to development, country or people.

The United States is not only meddling in Cambodian internal affairs, but to other countries as well with its tortuous policy, and therefore, I'm not surprised.

Actually, so-called corruption which is someone paying some one like a policeman instead of a ticket and court helps spread the wealth in Cambodia. I would like to see it legalized since it's nothing more that capitalism without government labels and interference with market forces
