Thailand add more troops along the border … AGAIN

Tuesday, June 16, 2009
Kampuchea Thmei newspaper
Translated from Khmer by Socheata

The border situation near Preah Vihear temple does not seem to be too good once again in the afternoon of 15 June because Thai troops were trucked in and they were spread out inside their territories.

One RCAF officer stationed in Phnom Trop told Kampuchea Thmei that about 20 truckloads of Thai soldiers and heavy artillery were brought in and spread in front of Phnom Trop. The sending of fresh Thai troops was done without prior warning. However, these Thai soldiers arrived in front of Phnom trop at noon time on 15 June.

The RCAF officer said that Thai soldiers who can speak Khmer told frontline Cambodian soldiers that these new Thai troops were sent in to protect Thai region 2 army commander who will be inspecting the border.

The same officer indicated also that the 20 trucks used to bring in these soldiers are US-made trucks, and each one of them carried 12 soldiers. These soldiers were spread out in four areas: O’Chak Chreng, Ta Sim Pass, Phnom Trop and Veal Entry Field.

General Srey Doek told Kampuchea Thmei that, indeed, Thailand spread troops as reported, but these Thai soldiers informed their Cambodian counterpart that they came to protect their region 2 army commander who will be inspecting troops along the border. Srey Doek said: “We are following to see if these new troops, which claim to protect their commander will be pulled back or not.” However, report from the frontline indicated that the Thai chairman of region 2 had already left, but the soldiers who escorted their commander did not pull back yet.

Srey Doek indicated that even though fresh Thai troops were sent in and spread in front of Cambodian soldiers, they are not seen moving into Cambodian territories yet. He said that if these soldiers are stationed inside Thai territories, this is not an issue, but if these soldiers move into Cambodian territories, it is a different issue altogether.

General Yim Pim said that Thai troops who were recently spread out did create a surprise. However, Cambodia did not react strongly about this issue since these Thai soldiers are still stationed inside their territories.

Srey Doek said: “We did not yet make any accusation that these new troops were sent over with the intention of leading an aggression or anything else, but we are on alert in the protection of our lands only.”

We must do the same, when one of our leader visiting here. To Khmer government you must prepare more stuff to protect our land, build up more military weapons then Thai will automatically back down. Never truth this nation , never.

Dear Khmers,

I have a concern about the loyalty of General Srey Deok now. I have noticed that this General seems to become less and less serious about the movement of Thai Soldier. More often recently I read that he always lighten the situation, meaning that he is not as he was few months before. This is my personal opinion.
Thanks for reading.

Look at all the ah stupid Khmer dogs biting their own people. Fuck all of you who doubt any of our military commanders and soldiers at the frontline. You all are fucking pussies personified for taking a cheap shot at the people that put their lives on the line while you righteously voice your shit filled dicksucking mouth about how careless they are of the nation.

If you're so good yourself, go do what those guys are doing. Huh? Fucking pussy bitch traitor?

“ General Srey Doek told Kampuchea Thmei that, …Thai soldiers informed their Cambodian counterpart that they came to protect their region 2 army commander who will be inspecting troops along the border”.

This is nonsense and I trust General Srey Doek did not believe what the Thai soldiers said. You don’t bring in heavy artillery protect a regional commander during a border inspection!

Get your troop in combat readiness state and redeploy them appropriately, General Sey Doek.

Gen. Srey Doek drinks with Thai commanders nearly every week. This general is a drunkard and a coward. He doesn't care about our borders the same as Hun Sen.

True if they need that kind of protection to protect their inspector, that is out of their mind.

Khmer must get ready in case its happening.

We will defeat them regardless what they have.

Cambodia is a weak State, I meant very weak. Not even that she is so poor, only a few powerful people are rich, but they aren't going to die for the country. Many powerful people have two IDs two passports. Hun Sen and his family members will be running to Vietnam and the rest going elswhere or Vietnam the same thing.
Thais can invade Cambodia any time, I meant can fly or march toward Phnom Penh and no one can stop them.

If Hun Sen has Khmer to replace Sok Kong, the problem between Khmer/Thai may not escalate like as it is today. As long as the Vietnamese has his hand on Khmer empire's treasure, Thais won't back off by all means. Thais preserve the culture of Hindu Kings not the destroyers like Viet or so called Youn.

Why don't you guy stop pointing your fingers at samdach Hun Sen. He have a bright leader. He had many PhDs. His wife, kids, and others have many credentials as well.

Samdach Hun is a smart man, he does not have to go to school to earn the degree. CPP affiliates give to him for free.

Stop making fun of our Samdach.

My simple question has never been the purely academic question of the origin of morality. Either generally or traditionally speaking, what we Khmer unconsciously and continuously keep calling, "Good of our Mighty savoir, Hun SenVarman" is actually an extreme danger, not only the poeple but also the shrinking nation. Does he really love Khmers and Cambodia? Or the power and money?

Perhaps, what we unquestionally call, "Evil of the trouble maker who tirelessly against the CPP and Hun SenVarman" will ultimately be of greater benefit to Khmer and her nation.

In order to simply understand the value of morality,"Good and Evil", we Khmer must patiently need to understand how it arose among us rather than just accepting its dictates as indisputable truth of the CPP and Hun SenVarman's supporters.

This is the 21st century, no country can go invade and over-take other country.

The Thais are stupid as hell, they still think this is the 16th century.

We are Thai and we are superior to Khun Katoey, we want to liberate Khmer out of Hun Sen's hand. Hun Sen needs to come to Bangkok and join Katoey club.

YALA, Thailand, June 15 (Reuters) - Suspected separatists beheaded a rubber tapper and shot dead a school janitor, both Buddhists, in the latest violence in Thailand's Muslim south, police said on Monday.

The attacks took place in Yala and Pattani, two of the three Malay Muslim provinces where 29 people have been killed and more than 50 injured in the past 10 days, among them soldiers, teachers and Buddhist monks.

The body and severed head of the rubber tapper was found in a house next to a plantation in Yala's Than To district. That added to more than 40 beheadings in the region since violence erupted in 2004.

The school janitor was shot dead by unknown gunmen while travelling to work on his motorcycle in Pattani, police said.

Attacks on Buddhists have increased since a shooting last week at a Narathiwat mosque, where unknown gunmen killed 10 Muslims at prayer and wounded 12 more.

Residents blamed security forces for the bloody attack, which the military said was the work of shadowy rebels seeking to cause sectarian rifts.

A labourer from northeastern Thailand was shot dead two days later and a note left at the scene said: "You kill our innocents, so we kill your people."

A Buddhist monk was killed and another critically injured on Friday when they were gunned down as they collected alms in Yala.

A report by Washington-based Nonviolence International released on Monday said the government's decision to arm Buddhist civilians and deregulate gun sales was deepening rifts between Muslims and the region's Buddhist minority.

The study said the policy had "heightened resentment among the Malay Muslim population towards the Thai state and raised the feeling of injustice and discrimination".

In a weekly televised address on Sunday, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajvia said development aid rather than tough security measures would be used to tackle the unrest, with increased investment in the region's fisheries and rubber and palm oil industries.

Mystery surrounds who is behind the violence in the deep south, which was an independent Malay Muslim sultanate until annexed by Buddhist Thailand a century ago.

No credible group has claimed responsibility for the near daily shootings, bombings and arson attacks in the region, where nearly 3,500 people have died in five years of unrest.
