The National Anti-Corruption Commission, or NACC, is likely to question the Thai Ambassador to France over the Preah Vihear Temple controversy.
NACC member Somluck Jatkrabuanphol revealed the latest development in the ongoing investigation on the charge against the cabinet of former Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej for wrongfully making a decision that favoured Cambodia registering Preah Vihear Temple as a world heritage site.
The investigation team will decide if the decision of Samak's cabinet violated article 190 of the Thai constitution. Somluck, who is in charge of the investigation, said the only remaining task for the probe team is to grill Thana Duangrat, the Thai ambassador to Paris, whom former Foreign Affairs Minister Noppadol Pattama claimed acknowledged the process of a joint communique between Thailand and France that led to handing the ancient site over to Cambodia.
Noppadol also claimed Thana was present at the signing of the joint communique. Thana was expected to give his response before the commission on May 29th, but he had a prior engagement and postponed the date.
Somluck revealed that she and her investigative team may travel to Paris in the middle of the month to interview Thana there, in order to speed up the ruling over the charge. They cannot wait until Thana will return to Thailand in July to take a new post in Malaysia.
Somluck added that if the NACC indicts 28 members of the Samak cabinet over this charge, the matter will be forwarded to the Constitution Court, which will rule whether three current cabinet members involved in the charge will have to step down from their posts.
She said there are two opinions within the NACC over this matter. One side says the current cabinet members will not have to resign if indicted, and the other side says the opposite.

It is very shameful for Siam to lie to their children about their history.
I can find words in dictionary to describe Thailand and its people.
Thailand is a shameless country whose people have chosen to ignore the very fact that Preah Vihear belongs to Cambodia and for that reason Cambodia can do whatever it wants with its temple.
It is too bad we live next door to such people!

3 Enemies of the Cambodian people:
1) Vietnam's perpetuating historical attempts to colonize, cozy up Cambodia in a big brother/little brother relationship, then go for the kill.
2) Thailand's identity crisis in which they make themselves (and attempts with the world) to rewrite history and consider most things Cambodian or with a Cambodian origin to be Thai. They will relentlessly claim anything Cambodian to be Thai.
3) Hun Sen and the Cambodian People's Party. They are just 21st century versions of Cambodia's kings and lords from 1700-1860's AD. Self-interests, jealousy, backstabbing and disregard towards consequences. Slowly these traitors are reawakening the cycles that will tarnish and erode Cambodian identity.
preah vihear temple and surrounding lands is not yours, thailand; so, give it up already! it will never be yours, ever! so stop dreaming already. get with the program. it's not your, so you have no rights to say anything about it, period, end of story! god bless cambodia.
do not want to take our preah vihear temple which belongs to cambodians not the thais which just born 3 or 4 centuries after the temple. do not act bad manners to your neighbouring countries or you will suffer by the mighty of our ancestors who hardly built the temple. we left many temples to you mr. thais do not forget and turn the history up side down. we have more than a thousand temples in the whole cambodia citing angkor vat, bayon, bapuon, taphrom, preah vihear, banteay chhmar, ... many of our artefacts were looted by chor thais.
thank you.
thais do not keep khmer artefacts or you will be destroyed by the omnipotent power of khmer builders of the temples. you keep them you will have bad luck in your life. please remember my words of mighty persons from khmer ancestors. they bears mantra, yantra, vedic words.
thank you for your kindness in understanding this matters of fact.
