The Vietnamese and Cambodian customs departments have signed an agreement to jointly check goods at the Bavet-Moc Bai border gate, the largest border gate along the common border between the two countries.
The head of the Cambodian General Department of Customs, Pen Si Mon, stated that the agreement is based on a previous protocol signed between the two sides in 2007.
The agreement marks an important step forward in enhancing cooperation to prevent customs violations and help to cut down the time and expenditure involved in custom procedures between the two countries, as well speeding up trade between the two countries, said Cambodia’s head customs officer.
