To day we (CACJE) received the appreciated notice from the Board of Directors of Radio Free Asia (RFA) to inform us that RFA had accepted CACJE's proposal and agreed to restructure the management and leadership of RFA in its Washington DC office.
P.S: Since Kem Sos came to power at RFA, the original status of RFA was changed. The Evils (the corrupt staff) who work in office RFA in Washington DC get the check salary from US-Tax payers but they get cash salary (LOUY SOTH) from the corrupt government in Phnom Penh.
CACJE has never been silent since we since we were aware of this issue since one of our activist (Mr. Lem Piseth aka Lem Pichpesey) was discouraged from professional field works by Mr. Kem Sos. We observed and found that those evils have two faces, they were very proud and arrogant when they get monetary support from the Phnom Penh government.
But the USA is the father of democracy. The US senators and US congressmen have not and have never ignored our complaints. They listen to the public, especially they listen to the target group (beneficiary), so they accept all of letters and information from CACJE and CACJE's activists from around the world, even from Cambodia.
1. Sam Borin, a former Vice-Director of Khmer Service of RFA has been demoted to be just a normal reporter.
3. Kem Sos still hold the same position as the Director of Khmer Service of RFA but had been withdrawn from having the rights and power control of program broadcasting. He remain duty to manage administration only and still investigate (possible termination if found guilty of corruption).
4. Other editors who have committed corruption and had joined communist regime in Phnom Penh will be terminated soon and new candidates will be recruited to replace them.
This information is a sign that "WHEN THE GOOD ACTS TOGETHER THEN THE EVIL IS GOING TO LOSE".
I courage all Khmers living overseas and Khmers living inside Cambodia have to act together to fight Evils who are trying to destroy our homeland.

These RFA people were on the payroll of the Phnom Penh government that's why they are now less critical of the government. They broadcast a lot of things in favor of the government. I noticed also they cover less issue critical of the government. They also cover very little of the opposition's activities.
If the claims of bribery are true, these people should be sacked.

What Ratha was saying here was that people like Kem Sos, Sam Borin etc. receive their tax-funded salary from the U.S government, but at the same time they received corrupt payments from Hun Sen's government in cash (luy sot).
I'm not sure if Ratha's claims are true but I noticed that lately the RFA has been less critical of the government and more critical of the opposition.
I'm not surprise of the news....The Hun Sen regime is trying to spread its tentacles where it can benefit from its propaganda and misinformation. Those puppets MPs and the NA they are not worth the seat that people voted them in. I'm glad that there are Khmers that still stand up against the injustice in our Fatherland.

RFA is not favor any party. They try to be as impartial as reported. They never call Hun Sen the samdec dajo Husen, but they're refering him as PM Hun Sen. They might quote other people call him as such. It is true that they don't say much or cover much about Sam Rainsy, that because Sam Rainsy is not always in the picture like PM Hun Sen. It's not just RFA that didn't cover a lot about Sam Rainsy,but every one else is just acting same way,and that include KI,DAP, and SACRAVA. Let me ask you this. How many time did KI, who is the main support of Sam Rainsy, talk about Sam Rainsy comparing to PM Hun Sen? If you all say PM Hun Sen, I rest my case.
One should not blame everything on PM Hun Sen; he may or may not have a role to play, but those stupid people are to blame. They are Khmer Americans who hate corruption, ... or maybe they only intimidate or threaten the government in order to be offerred either brides or positions, then shut their mouths up.
If everyone tries to be fair for any party, perhaps we can live in peace and dignity.

i don't know about all this as I stop listening to Khmer news in general and read on KI instead, but I know from the times when RFA used to be my only source, I really appreciate their truthful. find these accusations hard to swallow.
And I find the tone of condemnation and reproach very unconcilatory, and it doesn't strike me very surprisingly as it comes within the Khmer community. Over the last several years I come to grow up and see our community work, I can only see jealousy, put downs, and harsh words.
Even if those accusations had some truth, these people are still in there and while they're there, you should have some tone of respect and reconciliation to keep our community together.

We are not spitting on one another on the posting here. i used to admire Mr Kem Sos for his good work while I was a refugee in Khao I Dang. We all have to wait and see the outcome of the investigation. And anything possible.
please remind ourselve that nothing should be personal here, simply be open-minded and reflect the outcome against the Ethics and respect.
I understand that no body is perfect,however we have to weigh the action against its intention.
I hope he is not guilty as it has been claimed, and continues good work as role model to younger cambodians.

I can smell the jealousy from this Sourn Serey Ratha guy and this smell also come from RFA as well.
1. The smell from Sourn Serey Ratha just reflect his characteristics so well. If we have a look at his so called CACJE news, there is nothing by reports by Sourn Serey Ratha only. He is trying hard to get attraction from readers and Khmer to visit his site. But yeah, it is not wrong by doing that.
2. The smell from RFA is not just now. It has been there long time ago, since Mr Kem Sos and Mr Sam Borin were visiting Cambodia (not remember the date). There has been accusation against them and some other staffs.
My point is both Sourn Sery Ratha and RFA are paid to criticise the RGC and to raise bad issues that happening in Cambodia. So if any one try to perform media professionalism, balance the news, tell some good things, s/he would be accused of wrong doing. Even worse in words than that, s/he is treated as evils by like this guy Ratha.
My second idea is Can this guy Sourn Serey Ratha prove his accusing regarding Mr Sam Borin and Mr Kem Sos get cash paid from RGC?? Or just jealousy??
I remember, this is similiar the case of SRP after the council election. RSP accused its people of evils and corrupted; and SRP once wanted to sack its people but changed its mind later. This is, I would call, a suicide strategy.

Those who have misjudged your works are no different to Kaing Guech Ev ( Duch ) during Pol Pot at all. Now this same person Duch has asked his father to give pardon for all the evils acts against his people. The same, people who are treating their own citizen like dirt because of their closed associations with all the evils, will the same for one day in the future.
Radio Free Asia is to free Asia from evils domination. But I found Cambodia, evils are getting stronger and stronger because the messages from RFA have not strong enough to get through to them.

We should give the benefit of the doubt before jumping the gun. The management of the RFA Khmer Service has always been set up for failure due to RFA strategy. A friend of mine used to call RFA Khmer Service “little Phnom-Penh of the late 1990’s.” This is unfortunate that a Cambodian scholar like Kem Sos is alleged to be involved in the corruption. As far as I know, Kem Sos may be the only figure in the Khmer Service who may have the international caliber within RFA.
RFA’s past president and present executive were complacent in recruiting Khmer Service staff since they need people who can speak the language of senior government officials in Phnom-Penh.
May Buddha bless you, Mr. Suon Serey Setha, in your effort to monitor this important service that is subsidized by our tax money.

As a news reporter, he or she can not say a lot about what is right and what is wrong, but rather what is true and what is faul. Whether the fact is true or it is faul. They are not suppose to be a politicians. RFA has reported what were happening that based on fact, not to be based on the personal and the political believe. If many of you want RFA to support one party over the other,then they can't do their job based on fact. They do not favor PM Hun Sen over Ms. Mu Sochua or vice-versa, but they were reporting about the fact between both of them.

Sok Serei Suspicious Accident and RFA Covering Up
Khmer Radio Free Asia statement released: "For listeners who would like to donate money to help pay Mr. Sok Serei ‘s hospital fee, please contact his family directly.”
I think Khmer Radio Free Asia (RFA) is covering up or trying to hide Sok Serei “suspicious road accident”. Khmer language RFA Director, Kem Sos should have some explaining to do.
Reporters Without Borders (RSF.org) reported Sok Serei, a Radio Free Asia journalist had “suspicious road accident “ while riding his motor scooter on the street of Phnom Penh on the evening of 13 December 2006. Bystanders who witnessed the incidence saw a driver who drove a large vehicle in opposite direction slammed open the vehicle‘s door which knocked Sok Serei and his daughter off to the concrete road. Sok Serey and his daughter were taken to the hospital. His daughter was in a stable condition while he was in a coma for over night.
Sam Rainsy, the leader of the Sam Rainsy Party visited Sok Serey at the Calumets Hospital on 21 December 2006. Sok Serei told Sam Rainsy that of all his radio reporting news, he heavily covered the rampant corruption within the country. In one of his reporting coverered the Chinese company Green Rich on logging inside the 18,300 hectares at Botum Sakor National Park in Koh Kong province. Cambodia Department of Environment secretly withdrew the lawsuit. It allowed Green Rich Company to continue the logging inside the national park. (see picture).

Kem Sos, the Khmer RFA Director has very much to do in covering up or hiding the corruptions. According to Khmer language news Sralanh Khmer issue 23 December 2006, Sok Serey said his reporting that was planned to broadcast would reveal many top government ministers involving the corruptions. Kem Sos prohibited Sok Serei's reporting to be aired because those top corrupted ministers are all Kem Sos's own friends and acquaintances.
For Sok Serei it was a “suspicious” accident for sure, but it even more suspicious when Khmer RFA said absolutely nothing about the accident until 8 days later. On 21 December 2006 it released the news on the incident. The official announcement from RFA was seeking donations from listeners to help pay Sok Serei’s hospital bill. Here’s my translation from RFA’s released statement: “For listeners who would like to donate money to help pay Mr. Sok Serei ‘s hospital fee, please contact his family directly.” RFA did not tell HOW listeners can contact his family. How irresponsible Khmer RFA is when coming to aid of their fellow employees.
I love listening to Khmer RFA news programs. The RFA broadcast service is funded by American people. The American government should investigate Director Kem Sos whether he adheres to high standard of journalism or he serves as disinformation for us all.

The well being of the people is the responsibility of the government, ie HUN SEN. If those poor farmers/peasants need wells they should request to the government or the government should know the needs of the people, because they were the people that put them in office. No amount of charity work can undone the miseries and tears of the Cambodian people if they themselves don't fight for their rights and condone those corrupted officials. Period.
Kem Sos used to tell people in his party home said: " He doen't believe any opposition party will down Samdech Hun Sen" If any organization can down Samdech Hun Sen, he and his wife will buy a brand new MOTO HONDA CL-120 for every one in that organization sic!
Now I just know that Kem Sos and his team licks Hun Sen toes.
Dear Khmer's family. I did see many a-yong of Kem Sos,Mayarith, Sam Borin etc... Post their comments. Do you know who told or force RFA workers to use the word samdach hunsen? Oknha Kem Sos who used all of his power to do so, but latter on he stop because he know that some Khmer people knew about what he did. I do remember when I was in refugee camp and met Mr. Kem Sos, at that time I did ask him do you know one of my uncle he lives in Long Island also he is a professor at Stony Brook University teaching electrnic technology? The so-called educated person being supported by Serey Ratha SOURN lacks principle, integrity, and Khmer language competency. His English is very poor even though he attended US high school. On top of that, he pretends to be afraid of revealing his true identity. Please find out about his real name and his education. I wonder how he could be recruited with his lack of English and Khmer compentency. I heard through the grapevine that he is even more troublesome than anyone else in the Khmer Service. Everyone should listen to his so-called human right features.
