This is awonderful Poem, I hope Khmer Leader not forget about our history.

This poem is a reminder, it is a message to all Khmer leaders to be careful with Siam or Thais.

One currency and one passport for Asian countries. Anybody can go and travel anywhere they want to be. We don't have the money. Ah siam let us borrow, sure. Give it. Better high way or better road means easier way for anyone to travel. Thai isn't the only Cambodian guest. There will be plently that like to discover the wonder Cambodia. Risk vs benifit. Just making sure the B is bigger. Education education. Thais have strong Khmer's root. It's just a matter of time that they will have to admit, they are Khmer after all.

After a long civil war with King Kan, King Chan Raja started to build his new capital in Longvek (Kampong Chhang) in 1529 as " Bateay Longvek or Longvek Fort" far away from Siam.This fort was surrounded by thick bamboo trees and any enemy was not able to assault. He moved in there until 1529.
After the death of King Chan Raja, several kings went to the war with Siam again and again. In 1588 Siam army invaded Cambodia. After 3 mounts of fighting, siam army was not able to take over "Banteay Longvek." They waited there with their spies and their dirty tricks especially with "Prak Doung" by throwing them into the thick bamboo forest .The khmer people cut down the bamboo trees to retrieve " Prak Doung". Finally in 1593,siam army took over "Bateay Lonvek." They destroyed the fort and stole a huge of valuable documents, a variety of Khmer formulas, thousands of khmer intellectuals and king Srey Soryopor with them back to Siam. This is just my summary and was the great loss in Cambodian history. We do not forget until now in year 2009 and never,never forget and we do NOT want to happen again to our Preach Vihear Temple.

Trying to study why Thai let Cambodian government borrow money to build road along the border with them, this is what I think:
1-Just like the newly built HWY67, the HWY 68 will be built with Thai construction company, employing almost 100% Thai people (might include Thai secret agents?).
2-In case war breaks out in full scale between the two country, Thai military will have to occupy the area in first place and that new road will be just like theirs. So they have nothing to lose, building for Cambodia is just like building in their own territory, (using money that Cambodian will have to pay?).
Again, I am just trying to be thoughtful and helful to my country that I love so much. It's just a good will that should not be considered as opposing.
My rspect to all Khmer.

The problem in Cambodia right now is the governemnt itself who does not DO its job properly.
Cambodia is ranked 41 whereas Vietnam is 23 and Thailand is 11.
In order to IMPROVE THE GDP, Khmers HAVE to Invest or Upgrade the Quality of EDUCATION and Analyse the Dynamic of Sectors such as Technology at outside the country.
The government MUST DO a proper ORIENTATIONS such as organizing or upgrading industrialize Structure by first investing educations and creating institutes for Techonoly reversing in engineerings & developping progressively techonology growth national capability.
The most important thing you all MUST know that the Khmer people do not have "means" to pursue this kind of education BUT only the Governmnet CAN.

To 11:55 Mr Hok,
1-Please don't blame Mr. Hin Sithan. Son Samrach is not him.
2-If you said Khmer Krom don't know history, you must don't know history yoursel and Khmer Krom knows history way much more than you do.
3-Why are you so unreasonable. The poem didn't say anything bad about you or whoever you are supporting. It's just reminding of Thai's trick toward Khmer in the past. For whatever the Cambodian government will deal with Thai is up to them still. Please don't be so cruel. Thank you.
