After denying interview, Mu Sochua says CTN is a CPP 'tool'.

SRP lawmaker Mu Sochua."In its broadcasts, it makes attacks on the Sam Rainsy Party and other opposition politicians, who are not given the chance to respond," said the lawmaker, who was returning from a trip to the United States.
Soy Sopheap, the CTN reporter who approached Mu Sochua, said he had ordered his cameraman to take her photo and then asked for an interview.
In response to her charges of bias, he said Mu Sochua herself was not neutral.
"She turned down an interview with me and then provided interviews with Voice of America and Voice of Democracy radio," he said. "So how can she accuse me of not being neutral?"
He went on to say that no media outlet was truly independent.
He said he had no personal animosity towards Mu Sochua, who is currently being sued for defamation by Prime Minister Hun Sen, but suggested that she had overreacted to his interview request.
"If she does not want journalists to take her photos, she should quit politics," he said.
He also said CTN did in fact give all political parties the opportunity to respond to critical reports about them.
Koul Panha, the executive director of the election monitor Comfrel, declined to comment specifically on the spat, though he said he did not believe any television stations provided balanced coverage.
He also said he would not decline interview requests because of perceived bias on the part of a particular network.
"If they broadcast the interview wrong, we can just use the Press Law," he said, referring to the 1995 law pertaining to defamation and false information offences.

Ever since the day I first watched CTN New Day and some of the political talk shows, these shows are a platform for the CPP and their loser leaders. CTN New Day is complete BS. Soy Sopheap's Thursday Talk is just an excuse for him to rant about BS and praise his CPP masters. Chum Kosal is a Hun Sen suck up who I compare to a dog doing tricks to impress his master. Overall CTN cultural and entertainment programing is good, but the downfall is that their news organization is a CPP mouth pieces, just like Bayon TV and TVK. Anyone has a right to decline an interview from a network that is a mouth piece of a puppet-government.
Soy Sopheap is worse than industrial cow-dungs (manures). You just see the quality of journalism at CTN then you can know the education level of the leaders, audiences and workers at CTN....because they can't find or have anyone better that a moron and a clown.
I felt bad for this poor lady, Hun Sen is tough on poor and weak women only! he' should be ashamed...

Yep. Exactly. All the opposition people have been doing is "talking" how the problem while the CPP to whatever extent are spending time to fix the problems all over the country. So what they name it after Hun Sen or any of their leaders, it is their right since they spend their money on it.
Name one school that the opposition has built. After all that money donated by Khmeroverseas in the belief that they are contributing to the country, the opposition mostly use all that hard-earned money to do what? Khmer overseas should look to see where their hard-earned money donated to the opposition are going to.

Scolding someone is a "freedom of speech" that is encouraged on the net. Anyone is entitled to talk smack to anyone they feel like. You are right as well, there should also be some show of support for the opposition. Khmer that are living overseas only have TV as a window to what is happening in Cambodia. For some of us living oversea, or were born in another country, it is somewhat hard to support the opposition if the window of Cambodia which they get their information is all from one political part. If the opposition give their political platforms online, then maybe a difference could be made.

We all know people talk shit on the internet because it is anonymous. I support the Hun Sen's government and at the same time support the idea of having opposition to uphold the process of democracy. But one problem that I see with the opposition is it seems they only care about their political career instead of really caring about Khmer.
There are better ways to confront social problems than to file lawsuits and talk trash about each other. It seems these politicians, all parties, mostly only care about their political career and status.
I agree that there are corruption in the government and society as a whole but what you can't take away from as what some of the opposition has been exploiting is the fact that the CPP has done a grant for Cambodia and the majority of the people. Khmer people, farmers or any dirty poor ones, know and can see who is actually bringing benefits to them and that's why majority of them voted for the CPP.
If the opposition really cares about Cambodia, they need to start doing things beneficial for the poor instead of pleasing the ears Khmer overseas with their strong rhetoric. Sooner or later Khmer overseas will see who actually delivers what their mouth promise.
Show the people that you care about them by doing things for them, not promises. That is the only way the opposition can prove their intention for the good of the people.

BBC ran a short report last night about Cambodia's epidemic land grabbing which has displaced over 35,000 Cambodians. At a conservative estimates, it says that the Cambodian government have sold at least 40% of Cambodia's land to private companies.
The greatest tragedy is that even through all the legal actions this great CPP set in place to deal with this problem, nothing could be done to resolve for the so called "dirt" poor Cambodians whom the CPP supporters challenged us, the oppositions supporters to help.
Why? Because the main culprit for the problem are the CPP officials, eg. Keat Konely, sister of Keat Chon was specifically named in the BBC report for the theft of over 400 hectares of ethnic Jarai land. The local official whom the Jarai should take the case to, turns out to be the Husband of Keat Konely, go figure.
This is issue of "better" way to resolve social issue then suing someone is a bogus double standard talk. This is really one of the few and probably first for oppositions to file a lawsuit against an official of the CPP. On the contrary, defamation lawsuits have been the favorite playing cards of CPP for over a decade now.
I for one, support Ms. Mu Sochua completely on this lawsuit because this was a symbolic gesture of the integrity, dignity and values of women that all Cambodian men must learn to accept and respect.
It need to be shown that Cambodian women should be bestow with equal respect as men, especially men of power who are role models for their suck ups, who will in turn treat woman like properties, like the way police, military MP, and CPP treat bar girls, beer girls, and vulnerable woman and Cambodians.
In regard to Mr. Soy Sopheap, he is a truly unbelieavably bias "journalist", I cannot watch CTN when "journalist" comes on. I enjoy the entertainment and cultural show very much, CPP or non CPP, we Khmer share the same culture so there isn't a difference, that is the only reason I watch CTN.
CTN is a mouth piece for the government 100%. If anyone watches that show and doesn't realize that, you must be really stupid, I am sorry but that is the truth!
I like critical talks and shows too, democracy thrives on that, but CTN is joking if it calls itself a critical talk or journalistic news. It is a box for propaganda only.

All schools and public buildings are constructed using Mr. Hun Sen's proper money not the gov's budget. Because those schools have the name HUN SEN as their pre of sufix.(Sic)
So the government should have much more money to increase public servants' salary.

I'm not anti-gov nor opposition party fan. I said because I am Khmer. I paid everything (tax) for the government to help developing my country. And I use opposition party as a police to help me judging the gov's activities.
So, if the government does right, no need to be afraid of what others say. Instead, the gov should explain us. He should not try to sue the OP.
