Thailand still undecided on Preah Vihear stance [-Does Abhisit know what he's doing?]

The Nation

The government has yet to discuss whether Thailand should ask Cambodia to jointly register the ancient Preah Vihear temple on the Thai-Cambodian border as a World Heritage Site, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said yesterday.

A joint submission for the registration of the temple as a World Heritage Site would only create more confusion because border demarcation in the area is still unclear, he said.

Abhisit said questions could be raised regarding ownership of the area adjoining the temple. However, he suggested, a settlement could be made on condition that neither Thailand nor Cambodia claim ownership of the disputed area.

So far the Cambodian government has not considered applying for jointly registering the site with Thailand, he said.

The United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) accepted Cambodia's application to designate Preah Vihear as a World Heritage Site last July.

However, last month Unesco agreed at a meeting in Seville, Spain, to delay the formal registration until February next year as the organisation still has a number of other matters to implement.

Delaying the formal registration came after complaints from Thailand said the temple listing had led to several armed clashes near the temple and urged the UN agency to review its decision.

With regard to negotiations about reducing troops near the Preah Vihear area, Abhisit said concerned officials from the two countries were still looking for ways to reduce tension and solve the problem in a peaceful manner.

Abhisit,
Stop your dreaming to jointly register the PV Temple. Every thing was be done by Cambodia and UNESCO. Why do you tell a lie to your nation?

Why did you dear to say Cambodia nor Thailand not yet to claim the deputed area around the temple? It is belong to Cambodia that has to be claimed since Cambodia brought the PV case to the ICJ and ICJ also ruled it to Cambodia.

In the high position as Thai PM, why are you stupid like this?

Readers,

Thailand now is like a mad dog on a street, don't care what it say, but have to be careful what it acts.

If the khmer temple has been registered and accepted to UNESCO,cambodia has nothing to worry about.Thailand appears to be flip flop that some kind of agreement made in 2000.Govt should have cleared that doubt.
As citizen, cambodians ought to be informed for their peace of mind.
Govt cannot take this matter into own hand.

Military deployment seems to be the threatening act of thailand, where the respect of sovereinty has been breached.

Thai citizen, please not be persuaded by wrong act of your govt ,especially khmer thai in surin. This can possibly be the target of having khmer to kill khmer. This sort of criminal act had been perpetrated in killing field.

There are no such a thing is the dispute area or zone. according to the colonial map this so called dispute area belonged to Khmer ever since 1962. The Thai nation was manipulated and confused by it own greedy government to taught it people the wrong history of Khmer and Siem for generations. As for Mr. Abhsit, he was one of the new generation who had study and learned the wrong history. That is why he's confused and so as the rest of the nation of Thailand. The Thais can not change their way of thinking toward history that why we
{Khmer}have a hard time to negotiate with them.

Don't just talk from increase to reduce, from reduce to increase forces, just setup the military position and fight.

To see who has the most advantage between the US master and Hanoi Master?

Let's set this game on the betting board and let's everyone bet...

I Bet 50,000 US dollars "Thai will open fight on Cambodian side first" and possible invasion to conquer cambodia to replace Cambodia from Hanoi's influence to Bangcock's new ruler.

“Jointly register the ancient Preah Vihear temple?”

Cambodian has been already aware what Thai’s intention is all about. It’s not the first time they raise it. Cambodia is firm about the Temple. It is belong to Cambodia, not Thailand. So stop the nonsense before war broke out and more blood spill for both nations.
What a moron greedy Thai leader!

I am not quite understand that ki-media raise that "However, last month Unesco agreed at a meeting in Seville, Spain, to delay the formal registration until February next year as the organisation still has a number of other matters to implement". As far as I understand that Phrea Vihear was officially register as the World heritage already in 7th July 2008 in the meeting at Canada already.
Please, Heng Soy, who is the writer of this text give me some explanation about this issues. Looking forward to hearing from you.
