ABC Radio Australia
The Cambodian prime minister, Hun Sen, has won a defamation case against former women's affairs minister Mu Sochua who had first brought a defamation case against him. She's been ordered to pay a fine - half of which will go to Hun Sen, and the other half to the state.
Some say the prime minister's case is part of a crackdown against critics. And Mu Sochua has, in the past, told Radio Australia that she would sooner go to jail than pay the fine. Zulfikar Abbany asks whether she is sticking to that decision.

After the judge rendered the verdict, this person appeared to utterly ignored, disregard, and disrespect the country's judicial system. The opposition leader’s duty and responsibility is to obey and respect the law of the country -- this is a direct contravention of the law –- and, it is critically imperative, however, the opposition leaders must know and understand the rules of leadership as well as the rules of the law. The recent episode has demonstrated that the opposition has no respect for the rules of law. Moreover, since this person was not exculpated of the crime in which she has perpetrated—this person is no longer innocent. Again, the verdict must be respected.
The verdict is out; the guilty one must respect the court's decision whether this person likes it or not -- it's the law -- and the court has found this person guilty. Therefore, if this person does not accept the court verdict, since this person is one of the lawmakers, this person should be excused from the position.
Again, it is very important to understand that the judge was merely and judicially interpreted the law--not legislating from the bench. Therefore, it is not ignominiously for the guilty one to acknowledge the guilt, since the culprit one was the one who perpetrated this act, and therefore should acknowledge and accept the consequences. Furthermore, if the guilty one does not agree to the verdict, which was rendered by the court, this person is entitled to the appellate process.
Having said that, let me say this: now, it is the perfect time for this person to serve time behind bars for behavior modification prior to reintegrating this person into civil society so this person does not imperil to the society.
