Dennis Lambdin mugshot A phone call from the other side of the country alerted police to a homicide Monday in Cottonwood Heights.
A man in Maryland called Cottonwood Heights police about 10:50 p.m. to say he had received an e-mail from his friend in Utah, claiming he had stabbed his wife.
Police arrived at the duplex on 2192 E. Fort Union Blvd. and knocked for about a minute before Dennis Wayne Lambdin, 60, answered the door. Police found his 41-year-old wife, Touch Choum, stabbed to death inside the home, said Beau Babka of the Cottonwood Heights Police Department.
Lambdin, 60, had wounds on his palm consistent with stabbing someone and having the hand slide down the blade, said Police Chief Robby Russo.
Choum also had been punched and beaten over the head with a heavy snow globe, Babka said.
"There was a lot of rage involved in this particular crime," Babka said.
Police had visited the home twice previously in the past month, Babka said. In one case, friends requested a check but did not explain their concern. In another, Lambdin himself called police during an argument with Choum.
Disputes were "very vocal," Babka said, but "there was nothing physical that we found."
Lambdin was taken to the hospital for stitches and then to the jail, Babka said. He was booked on suspicion of murder.
Babka said Lambdin has a 1995 conviction for sexual assault in Michigan, but he didn't know the details of that case. He also is on "lifetime probation" for drug convictions in the late 1980s in Michigan.
Lambdin has an extensive Internet presence in connection to business pursuits as a self-described "network marketer." On Livneasy.blogspot.com, he wrote that his wife's name is Jennifer and they have three children: two daughters and a son. Police confirmed that the woman pictured is Choum.
In 2008 remarks on the blog elfexpressionsezine.com, Lambdin writes that his wife was a refugee from Cambodia who came to the United States when she was 17. They had been together for 8½ years at the time, he wrote.
"I grew up in Michigan and went to the school of hard knocks. I have a masters in people skills," Lambdin wrote.
He stated he was a hotel manager on weekends and a shipping and receiving manager during the week.
His Myspace profile states he is Buddhist.
This is the first homicide investigated by the newly formed Cottonwood Heights Police Department.

A typical European-American's 'daily' demeanor.
That's what it ends up with the tragedy for those who wants to marry American men. They don't investigate or know the background of the person and married to the criminals. Most Cambodian girls in the US now married to a lot of American guys because Asian hot dog (called Sach Krork) is petite to compare with American hot dog.
She deserved to die if she is stupid enough to keep staying with the criminal. If she knows this guy hurting her, why didn't she leave him soon?
Maybe she thought marrying to a white guy made her more superior to others
I do not understand why some people still blame the victims. Every life, including animals, never deserves to die.
What about Cambodian women who married to Cambodian men, and those wives are being abused or killed(please read Khmer news), do those women deserve to be abused or killed?
How many people investigate about criminal history their spouse before marriage? And those past-criminals deserve not to marry to anyone?
Instead of blaming the victims, can the bloggers provide comment or solutions about preventive strategies for those women who married to foreigners?
She is playing a part of her tragedy too. She should leave him and calls police to arrest him. If the guy abused her by hitting or punching her once or twice, that's a sign of acting violent. So pack her back and left him while he is at work. So why she keeps staying with the old man? 41 to 60 years old. That's too old for her to marry with him in the first place. But, woman is looking for rich guy. Look at the play boy owner; he sleeps with a lot of young girls. Those girls are just looking for easier way life to live and get fame. Those three young girls are now no longer with that old goat because he is looking for new juicy puppies. In the Western countries they admire and respect the play boy like him, but not Asian countries. We think he is the bad crook and low life.
9:04pm,
Those people are a so called "Self-denial" who also are Opportunists with no regard for principles looking for things to blame. These people do not represent Khmer as a whole.
Go figure that there are those who would turn this into a race issue, were you there? Do you know all the circumstances?Furthermore, what country are you in Anonymous, that you are afraid to post your identity? I live in the US and am proud of it and if you do reside in the US and feel the way you do then maybe you should leave my country.
This oldfuck may had criminals-violence background, and why ta hell she got married with this mother fucker? cambodia men got some dick too!, but not Ah PPU though....dude had sex changed! and currently working in Chbar Om Pov borthel as a Vietwhore-pie hole!
asshole 12:36am
If you are American Indian, then you can claim US is your country, otherwise shut the fuck up you immigrant including your ancestors.
#1 It is a shame that this woman died.
#2 It is a shame that this created fodder for apparently insensitive people to have some thing or someone to bash.
#3 Yes, my ancestors were American Indians, and yours?
#4 You don't have to use profanity in a public forum to get your point across.
The khmers are just as bad about relationships. once khmer couples move overseas they seem to lose all inhibition and just go berserk. Last week here in new zealand this couple with 3 young beautiful children broke up; the man simply up and left..why share his income with 4 other mouths when he can live well for himself? Others cheat on their wives, have affairs, concubines in Cambodia. what's wrong with cambodian males? where is marital faithfulness and sense of duty towards the family? can't keep the centre in the middle anymore or what, you pathetic dipsticks? as we khmers used to say in the old days these guys "chhlouk teuk massin".
2:45 PM,
Why you stoop so low? Do you realize that including you when you used the term "Khmer"?
It is a human nature. Not just Khmer. It's applied to all races.
it shows domestic violence know no boundary! lock the creep up for life! i hope her family will sue him and demand that he goes to hell!
9:37pm, forgive me & i hope this is not a case of the old khmer saying "ko dombauv khnong kh'ek heur romlong.." ha ha! just joking. but seriously i for one will call evil for what it is. you're right: cheating on your wife is anything but uncommon in european society and it's the cause of zillions of divorces in the WEst. But to see khmer refugee families that have struggled & survived together during Ah Pot's time, only to be destroyed because the husband cheats his wife for another much younger one from Cambodia, i will call that evil any day. I guess you do too, right? if in doubt however, just ask the mother left looking after the children at home, surviving on welfare handouts..
[continued from 2:21pm]
..and by the way, i'm a khmer man happily married to the same khmer wife from after ah Pot and have two lovely children whom i constantly remind them not to do what the europeans do i.e. that they must keep themselves faithful & pure for their future husband and future wife. i have nothing but scorn on those khmer males (any males) who are wealthy and who frequent the poor prostitutes in phnom penh. to me that's the vilest human right abuse and hypocrisy there is, when a person enslave another for his own gratification. Yeap i call them dipsticks!
