Sen. Edward Kennedy, who died Tuesday at the age of 77, is being remembered around the world for his accomplishments.

In Cambodia, officials said they regretted the loss of a man with so many achievements, but whose deeds would not be forgotten.

Cambodians have an expression, “that the physical is lost in deed, but the reputation remains as a widespread fragrance inside and outside the country,” said Cheam Yeap, a Cambodian People’s Party lawmaker.

The youngest brother of John F. Kennedy, the US president assassinated in 1963, Edward Kennedy promoted better living for the American poor, opposed the US war in Iraq and fought to put an end to the US war in Vietnam and war in Cambodia. He helped improve rights for immigrants and endorsed the presidential candidacy of Barack Obama.

Son Chhay, a parliamentarian for the opposition Sam Rainsy Party, said Cambodia needed examples like Edward “Ted” Kennedy.

“As we’ve seen, in the US there have been memorials to the work of Edward Kennedy, over his achievements,” Son Chhay said. “He was a senator who helped contribute to the government of the US, paid attention to assisting people to live with dignity and advocated without thinking of himself personally.”

Politically, Kennedy was a Democrat and a strong ally of Obama, and his presence would be missed, said Koul Panha, executive director of the Committee for Free and Fair Elections.

“It has an effect, because the senator was an important person,” he said. “He had influence and he had a lot of support from people, because he’s in the Kennedy family.”

He was also able to work with Republicans in the Senate, Koul Panha said.

Prak Sereyvuth, vice chairman of the Federal Khmer Krom Association, based in the US, said Kennedy had understood the plight of Cambodians and the US role in it, with the backing of Lon Nol and the wars and consequences that followed.

“He had sympathy for Cambodians…and any refugee who wrote letters to him or their families to intervene,” he said. “His office paid attention and responded quickly, asking the State Department and immigration to take refugees in to the US.”

Cambodian government mourned the lost of U.S. senator while Hun Sen, the head of Cambodian government scolded non stop at U.S. publicly. Could this be that that the right hand don't know what the left hand is doing?

If JFK wasn't assasinated, there would be a higher chances of no vietnam war and no cambodia bombing or " khmer rouge".

Yep the crazy one like 3;42pm is shitting around with Buddha's words and God's words for others to adopt but this crazy one doesn't practice.

If you said (Pay no attention to the faults of others, things done or left undone by others.
Consider only what by oneself is done or left undone.) and why the hell you paid attention and then accused Sihanouk for destroying Buddha?

If you are too fucking hypocrite so stop preaching. You told people to pay no attention bla bla.. then you yourself do. How could you used Buddha name in vain and you ignore Bab and Bonn or Karma?
Are you sure you are really Buddhist or the fucking Tmat and Tmil?

Ted Kennedy did a lot of good deeds than his 2 brothers. May be he felt guilty after he killed a girl he went out with and may be he saw his family was being punished from the Karma they did to others.

His Dad was a criminal who linked to mafia or he may be a mafia himself who got so rich during a great depression. His Dad must have known something so he sold his stocks before crushed.

Since after Kenendy father became so rich and after Pre. Kennedy's girl friend, Marilyn Monroe was assassinated after a day she announced to have her press conference and after President Kennedy sent her words through his brother Robert Kennedy that he no longer sees her, The Kennedys faced so many tragedies.

The saddest part was John Jr. died in his own plane with his pregnant wife and her sister in the ocean.

Ted Kennedy became Communist-socialist trying to wash away his father's criminal background as well as some of his family members who did bad to others. His father Joseph Kennedy married to a New York's Mayor's daughter, a mastermind of law breaker. An educated and talented mafia Joe Kennedy did too many bad things to other people.

He cheated the election so his son John Kenendy could become the US President. While John was President he cheated his wife with Marilyn Monroe knowing his beautiful and intelligent wife Jacqueline was the only one could save his political career from disaster. He assigned his own brother, Robert Kennedy to be the US attorney general, the 2nd most powerful man in the world. Afraid of his affair and Cuba-conflict with Soviet, John stopped seeing Marilyn then his brother Robert Kenendy conforted her. Not just conforting Marilyn, Robert Kennedy slept with her, then finally she was murdered, by who if not by Kennedys?

Many see Ted Kenendy as god, but too many seeing him as a monster trying to change America to Maxist-Socialism. Why shoud he be worried those hard working people like us struggle from being so poor to earn our living and pay our taxes as good citizens? He wants more and more from our hard earning to give to the world, the lazy ones who do nothing but going around fucking making babies.

I don't appreciate this man, and I wish he will be punished in hell. His mafia Father is in hell right now for hurting too many lives.
