Thanks for sharing this. It is really a good website to disseminate education resource in and about Cambodia.
All people khmer must leurn together.Believe nothing what they said,Sihanouk and Vietcong,because they had destroyed our religion and all things between 1970-1993.

King Sihanouk destroyed no religion nor he destroyed the country. You need not only just read Cambodsastra, but a guidance from wise people to help you.
Back to the past, Khmer Empire was built by Hindu Kings not Buddhist Kings. Jayavaraman 7 destroyed the Hindu of the Khmer Empire nation and he adopted Buddhism, later Jayavaraman 8 took the throne then he swicthed it back to the original religion which was Hindu.
If you think you are so smart then tell us who're the real destroyers and imposters. Most great Temples in Cambodia like Angkor Wat and Preah Vihear were built by King Suryvaraman II and he was Hindu.
If Khmers kept Hindu, the original religion, they would have been so stupid as they are today.
Stop collecting this junk Youtubes and try to make your stupid points.
"Preah Khan Reach" is in Thailand, it belonged to King Suryavaraman II. These Cambodian and Thai imposters don't deserve to claim Suryavaraman's Preah Khan Reach, it should be placed in India Museum, the rightfuk owner who came to build Khmer Empire.

i think this kind of website should seek to educate khmer people all over the globe to know where we come from and to have pride in our khmer heritage and much more. i think khmer modern generation of people should learn also critical thinking and logical or scientific way of thinking; this way, we can avoid be scammed or being gullible or being ignorant just because he hear rumours from others. i would encourage everyone to learn from everybody that they see as wise, smart, etc... and definitely learn to think for ourselves instead believe what others are saying. trust but also verify is a good philosophy to live by. also from from the world as a whole because the world is very big and consist of many race, many languages, many culture, and so forth. also learn to be competitive in everything we do, especially with neighboring countries and so on. this way will are smarter! always keep learning, even self-education. god bless cambodia.

Of course sdach sihanouk did not directly destroy religion and the country but he was helping the khmer rouge until their victory and then the khmer rouge destroyed the religion and the country.Don't try to cover up for his criminal act.

I can top that. Correct, King Norodom Sihanouk didn't commit any crime or destroyed his own country.
That's what the Vietnamese want you to believe that King Sihanouk committed crimes against his country . He did what every leader would have done to save his country and his people not to become like those indigenous like Khmer Krom who are about to be extincted by the Vietnam's expansionism.
You don't know what needs to be done to survive when Vietnamese never left Cambodia since mid-16th century. A lot of things you need to learn and know. Don't try to follow the Vietanmese propaganda and point gun on the ones who saved you.

If you can read my old post below. I read history of Vietnam, China, Thailand, and few more. I understood Vietnamese mentalities. How they fought against Chinese army and how they sacrificed million lives of their own people along with Chinese army to free themselves from Chinese and sacrificed many lives in Cambodia along with Khmers to kill all Nationalists in Cambodia.

Vietnamese studied about their enemies before they do anything. There are too many books wrote by western authors you can read. One book wrote of Ho Chi Minh disguised himself as a Buddhist Monk and lived in Bangkok, Thailand.
The motivations of Vietnam to expand the territory since after she was freed from China. After thousand years of living under China, the Vietnamese rose, fought against Chinese then they defeated Chinese, and an entire Chinese army was decimated, along too many of their own Vietnamese people when the Vietnamese leaders ordered the Red River dikes broken unleashing a torrent into the valley. The Vietnamese people are known as the most patriots and have the best war strategies against their enemies, they sacrificed their lives for their country, like they sacrificed their lives in Cambodia living among Khmer Rouge to take Cambodia.
And the secret plan by Vietnamese leaders to take western regions may be planned since King Suyavaraman II, who begun to invade Vietnam then failed. Suryavaraman II's foreign campaign were never won, though he was a great builder of most Hindu Temples in his country, Cambodia.
Khmer leaders like Suryavaraman II and the Varaman Kings failed to prepare and protect the country from the future invasions. The Varaman Kings including Jayavaraman VII are to blamed for the destruction of Cambodia. They didn't prepare and teach Khmer people to be prepared for new invasions by new neighbors.
The Vietnamese strategies to take Cambodia, and became Cambodian's saviors were all part of their strategies.
Many Vietnamese who sacrificed their lives along with Cambodians in Cambodia were all the same they did against Chinese. They did it and they killed Pol Pot at the end Pol Pot was to blamed.

You're a complete idiot to say that Sihanouk save me and the country.You have to know that Sihanouk was and still is a communist and yuon sympathizer and as result ,well see it for yourself .He led himself used or be cheated by the vietnamese and by the CHINESE for their goal .What led to his expulsion from power just because of that.Here is what he said," i helped yuon until i lost my throne ,yuons are a crocodile" .During the vietnam war,it was Sihanouk who sided with yuon in the first place by allowing part of our territory to be used by them .Yuon civilians from the North were all over the country trying to support their army fighting in the South.When the khmer republic slaughtered them ,he shouted from PEKING insulting our people trying to save our country and eliminating our enemies.
I won't blame you because you were just born and know so little about our past history.We have lived throught it and witness it.Believe me,there is no reason whatsoever that yuon dislike Sihanouk.If it were not him playing part ,yuon may still be divide until today just like the korea peninsula.

*Vietnamese never left Cambodia since in mid-16th century (during Viet-Siam shared power to control Cambodia until today), and ON the French map, the Vietnamese swathes a huge land of Laos and Cambodia through under French colony; and Vietnamese-Laos and Khmer Rouge were all under Vietnamese commander since in 1900's. If you cannot find the date/month/year that the Vietnamese left Cambodia since in mid-16th century, you don't have good arguments to make.*
That is exactly correct, you are alive instead of burning alive like KK and other indeginous people in Vietnam, you are back barking. Vietnamese sacrificed million lives of their own people to decimate the enitre Chinese army and defeat Khmers, 7 million Khmer lives meant nothing to them.
King Norodom Sihanouk commited no crimes against his own country; the crimes he commited was he did not tell his people the truth that Cambodia, Kampuchea Krom, and Laos belonged to Vietnam (see on the French Map) and that Vietnam took Cambodia since in mid 16th century and Cambodia has not been freed.

the blind leading the blind, that's what happened! i hope and praise that khmer people in the future will learn from the world and become smarter and smarter so painful history would not repeat itself. remember, education is the key to rid of ignorance which is the root of all evil, really! wake up khmer people. stop choosing to be in the dark anymore. stand up for yourself and be educated all the time. god bless.
the problem with culture is the sensitive culture, sometime. i this our leader should ease the culture of sensitivity so people from all walks of life can have freedom to voice and participate in gov't. this way, smart people have the incentive to help cambodia and make a difference the country and so on. people should be allow to respectfully criticize the gov't, especially if the gov't is careless and not serving the interest of the nation and not taking care of the problem our people is facing, etc... khmer people should have the right to participate in gov't, really! remember that two wrongs don't make it right, you know! it's called being smarter!
