Child Guard Recalls Burials Under Duch

A former child guard at Duch’s Khmer Rouge prison told a UN-backed court Monday he had been ordered to bury prisoners after he was recruited form Kampong Chhnang province.

Chhun Phal, now 47, said he was ordered to dig a mass grave for dead Cambodians, including one who still wore shackles from the prison.

Duch, 66, whose real name is Kaing Kek Iev, is on trial for war crimes, crimes against humanity, torture and murder, for his role as head of Tuol Sleng prison, where prosecutors say 12,380 were sent to the their deaths.

Chhun Phal told the court he was ordered to dig a hole 2 meters by 3 meters that was as deep as his neck, but he could not remember how many bodies were buried in it.

His other duties including caring for prisoners by giving them baths, which he did sometimes while they remained shackled.

He also said he saw Duch beat a prisoner with a rattan stick.

this guy was problem one of the KR killers. remember back then, the stupid KR brainwashed children as young as 7 years old to kill their parents and kill people in general in the stone age revelutionary backward vision. they were real evil! did you know the the late famous singer sin sisamouth of cambodia was executed by a 12 year old KR boy, then! yes, most of the killings were done by young, ignorant kids who were being brainwashed by the stupid KR evil regime, you know! that's the truth!

Yes We, Khmer Rouge know all about the killing you don't have to repeat. Com’ on Are there any more witness to testify thus you guy can get more attention? What is the solution? What’s the bottom line? Khmer Rouge..Khmer Rouge….Khmer Rouge. Khmer Rouge killed million of people, Testify..Testify…Testify. What do you want now? I am so sick and tired of this Khmer Rouge business. Concerning Khmer Rouge case, it’s vesting time of billion dollars. We should provide the money for poorest Cambodian people.
