Phnom Penh - Cambodian and Thai armed forces chiefs said 13 months of sometimes-fatal hostilities around the ancient Preah Vihear temple are at an end.

Military top brass of Thailand and Cambodia meet in Phnom Penh on Monday.

After the meeting, Thai Supreme Commander Gen Songkitti Jaggabatra said the dispute would no longer be allowed to damage relations between the two kingdoms.

"I would like to clarify again that there will be no more problems between Thailand and Cambodia. The border will not be the cause of any further disputes," he said.

"Cambodia and Thailand can not live separately. As Asean members, both countries shall not be in any cannot confrontation," said Songkiti.

At least seven soldiers from both sides were killed in occasional clashes around the temple complex since mid-2008 in a tense standoff that has had other members of the Asean regional bloc concerned.

Meanwhile Songkitti's counterpart; Gen Pol Saroeun echoed; "We have the same view. Our goal is to achieve peace and solidarity with each other as siblings."

Their meeting came just days after Prime Minister Hun Sen announced Cambodia would cut the number of troops stationed at Preah Vihear after Thailand reduced its forces to just 30 soldiers.

Preah Vihear Temple has been at the heart of controversy between Thailand and Cambodia. In 1962, the World Court granted ownership of the temple to Cambodia. The conflict erupted again after the Unesco listed it into the World Heritage List, a move that draw opposition from the Thai side.

What Siam said yesterday or today, it will change for tomorrow. We must never truth in Siam. We knew its behaviour. Nothing value to belief it...!

Siam always used "false siblings" to pacify and fool ignorant Khmers when comes to Siam self-interests.

Sihanouk fell for that ploy too back in his days Preah Vihear Court Case.

Gen.Lon Nol fell for the same Siam false siblings in normalizing relations with Siam after 18 Mars 1970.

Then D.K ( Hun Xen revolutionary mentor and teacher)under Sihanouk renormalized relations with Siam under false sibling pretext in spite of Siam removed border markers and veteran resttlement on Khmer land after 1976.

Now Hun Xen ,the Ironed face, falls for Siam false siblings too.

In truth,Khmer is no kin to Siam from the get going until today.
Siam has been recorded in world history as Khmer nation subjugator and Khmer land grabber.

So if Hun Xen protege Pol Sareun falls this same old Siam's line " siblings" then Khmer nation is really naive permanently.

Ai haa Siam park waan waan taer mae ee ha toot khem meurn slaeng.

Siam khluon jia Devathaddha mott jia Devada kaa Siam jia Chor rott mork pee Chin.

Watch for Siam old trick " Siblings" which it works everytime with self-egotiscal Khmer leadership.

Yes, the Preah Vihear border hostilities are over. Now turn to sea border disputes.

I really hate such a political game; it's dirty.

Car bomb injures 42 in restive Thai south

NARATHIWAT, Thailand, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Forty-two people were wounded, at least four seriously, when a powerful bomb exploded outside a restaurant in Thailand's deep south on Tuesday, police said.

The bomb, planted in a cooking gas cylinder and left in the back of a stolen pickup truck, was detonated outside a restaurant packed with civil servants.

The attack took place in the main town in Narathiwat, one of three mainly Muslim provinces plagued by five years of separatist unrest.

The bombing was the latest in a slew of attacks that have claimed 13 lives in the past week in the south, where rebels fighting the Thai state regularly target government officials.

The region was once a Malay Muslim sultanate until annexed by Buddhist Thailand a century ago, and separatist tensions have simmered ever since. (Reporting by Surapan Boonthanom; Writing by Martin Petty; Editing by Alan Raybould)

Thailand normally says one thing and then does another thing. What I have observed is that the opposit of what has been said by Thai officials is always the case. Will there be an exception for this case?

Abhishit government can not afford to cheat Siam voters anymore by exploiting Preah Vihear problems.

Now in tactics, Abhishit suffers too much from ASEAN and the likes criticism. So to soothe Siam feeling and gain votes in next election,Abhishit and Yellow King supporters will have to play cool over Preah Vihear.

General Pol Saroeun just another (pawn for Hun Sen)... just like the unfortunate Kim Yan;the two men are only Hun Sen's temporary lapdogs. However, the real pitbull is Kun Kim--that's the real killer for Hun Sen. --Janitor

Now let's shift our focus to the new frontier--the deep-water offshore gas blocks, that is.

USA, are you with us on this one, sir? We both need each other on this, because the Middle East isn't looking good.

In the meantime, the general from Burma should keep the fuel supply coming through (Thailand) while everything is being negotiated. Before I go, I want to be sure that everyone is with me on this one, and I also want to ensure that we don't misunderstand on the agreement on the contract in which was spitulated.

cambodia should inform thailand that we will use international law, and get international community involve in solving this problem because apparently dealing only with thailand is not helpful and good really a good idea as thailand kept bullying cambodia due to their advantage in economy and so on. cambodia should use every available laws in the book to force thailand to stop bullying us. it's called smart and clever. god bless cambodia.

I am just glad that Thais give up on Preah Vihear Temple. I did write to my state senator. He wrote back and said that he will look into Preah Vihear matter.
What a relive on the temple issue!

I highly doubt it if the Senator can do anything for us; however, he certainly looks forward to your ballot for his next term.
