Thailand and Cambodia Sign Prisoner Exchange Agreement

The foreign ministers of Cambodia and Thailand have signed a prisoner transfer agreement and joined a Thai-Cambodian Joint Committee meeting to reinforce cooperation between the two countries after the meeting had been suspended for more than three years..

Thai Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya and Cambodian Foreign Minister and Deputy Premier Hor Namhong have signed a prisoner transfer agreement between the two countries to set measures for convicts, after serving minimum period of imprisonment, to be transferred to serve their remaining sentences in their home countries. The agreement will enhance the collaboration in law enforcement of the two countries.

Moreover, the two representatives have joined the sixth Thai-Cambodian Joint Committee meeting to discuss further bilateral cooperation in various aspects such as education, culture, society, sciences, economics, tourism, and security after the meetings had been suspended for more than three years.
