Dear Editors,
Many Cambodians around the globe were watching and had reason to be concerned about the PAD temple protest over the week-end. Although the protest took place on Thai soil, its ramification had spilled across the border, and could adversely affect the ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the border issue peacefully.
It is irresponsible and inherently dangerous for PAD to conduct a territorial protest in such a proximity to the border, where soldiers on both sides were on high alert and had been under a lot of stress over a prolonged period. Provocations, intentional or not, could have occurred and easily degenerated into hostility. Wars began that way in some part of the world.
For both nations, it is outrageous and unacceptable that the border situation can not be normalized because some leading PAD activists would risk a war in order to advance their own political agenda. These activists have no consideration for the hardship on the soldiers deployed at the border, and the financial losses incurred on the local residents.
While continuing to exercise restraint within a limit, Cambodians sincerely hope that the week-end protesters did not represent Thai mainstream, and that the voice of reason in the Land of Smiles will prevail so that the border issue can be settled amicably.

Mr Davan Long what the PAD expressed is the view of most Thais, the Thais policians as well as the Thais army so stop doubting about their intention. That was why the Thais army moved in at the first place and led to various clashes with the Khmer soldiers. What we Khmer should do is prepare for the worst and fight the Thais greed in what ever form they maybe. Their intention over Preah Vihear is clearer by each day....if they(Thais) have the chance to kill Khmer people they would do it without hesitation....as they had shown in the recent history as in 1979....they are looking for this kind of chance....hate of Khmer is in their blood and heart.

It is incredible to see how much they unashamedly want our land. Throughout centuries they took so much of land from us and that has never been enough. Their thirst for land cannot be quenched.
What a race!
Cambodians have no choice but to be united at all costs to deal with this problem. We cannot afford to fight each other anymore as our internal fightings have always been the major roots and causes of our downfalls.
Let's be united to defend the small remaining land we have so that our identity shall remail for eternity!

All Khmer will stick together, when we have the strong and good leaders.
The PAD wanted really bad to be Khmer, but they disrespect the Khmer descents in "Surin and Srakeo" and other parts of the former Khmer Empire.
We Khmer born in Cambodia deserved to be Khmer descent, because we speak the same language, have same believe as our ancestors and plus we have the great "Prasat Angkor Wat."
Nothing different we "Three Stooges" Khmer/Thai/Laos.
