Hun Sen has done a great job in giving his attention to people affected by natural disasters. I admire him in this aspect. He has also brought some stability and development to Cambodia.
He can do a lot more within his power to bring sustainable development to Cambodia. But he chooses to put his personal and his cronies' interests first before sustainable development and long-term welfare of Cambodians. But it is hard to blame him as most people are born greedy. He is not exceptional. He is not a Buddha after all.
Downplaying the opposition's inadequate response to such disasters is not relevant here. The opposition does not have resources as the prime minister.

When CPP and most Khmer have asked what is SRP doing in helping the flood victims? SRP can not find anything to answer. So, our propaganda's team issued instruction to KI and our supporters to say that "all of opposition MPs want to go to visit that place before ah Hun Sen, but ah Hun Sen told his bodyguards not to allow any opposition MP to go there; all the credit of visiting the flood victims must be his alone". In fact, some of SRP MPs are still in overseas.
Despite SRP can not help the flood victims in Kompot province but at least SRP has something to say to the people to justify our action. We are so smart about it.

Dear Kompot people
It is good to see PM visited you all during the minor flood. Kompot is geographically located on lower plateau of down hill from Kravanh (cardamount). Lower than Sihanouk ville. kompot is just about 35 feet above sea level but the mountains on the North is about average 1045 feet of sea level, which can bring a lot of water down pour each heavy rain to your town. This flood could have been avoided, if deforestation (cutting and damaging trees) near your province have never been allowed.
In the several years, you all will see each of every flood in your province will be getting worse. I would pack up my things and move to away from Kompot town.
