A joint House meeting of the Parliament has approved six international negotiation frameworks.
At yesterday morning's joint House meeing of the Parliament, six international negotiation frameworks proposed by the Defense Ministry were voted on and approved after a Parliamentary debate held last Monday. The frameworks include negotiation on security issues on Thailand-Cambodia border.
An appointed senator, Kamnoon Sithisamarn stated that none of the six frameworks included any clause for the withdrawal of soldiers from the area around the Preah Vihear Temple. The clause will be on the agenda of a joint Thailand-Cambodia border committee, which is still under consideration. He says that he will not support such clause.
In addition, the Parliament issued a statement repealing the draft loan contract with the World Bank. The issue was put forward by the Cabinet, which agreed that no additional loan was needed. However, the next joint House meeting to approve the rest of the international negotiation frameworks has not yet been scheduled.
